And it is RED!! It is also tiny, it feels as if I should be able to put it in my pocket, so I hope the dreadful parking in Leeds might get a little better from now on.

My little Peugeot 107:
(the car in the picture is not actully mine, but it looks similar) :

In more news, RL always takes off during the school holiday time. My daughter and I have been doing all things possible together, starting from beading, biking and car-shopping and ending with the re-watch of "Boys Before Flowers".

PS: any suggestions on how to name it are very welcome. Every car needs a name but I haven't found one yet.

Very, very cute!!

I'm corny on naming, so if I were going to name a tiny red car, I'd probably go with something like Ladybug, or Strawberry, or else I might go literary with Scarlet, or The Scarlet Pimpernel (though I believe that flower is less red and more a type of reddish violet).

I loove Strawberry - I will run this past my daughter tonight.

One of the tings I liked about this Citroen/Toyota/Peugeot cars (they all made by Toyota) is theat these are the greenest cars around. Strawberry sounds cool.

Ohh! Pretty! I love little cars. I wish Smart cars were more available here.

I second strawberry! It's cute, and is quite apt! My car doesn't have a name... now I kinda feel bad for it.

I love Smart cars, but a two-seater is totally not acceptable for me. I occasionally have more than one passenger and I can not keep this option. Do you mean you don't get many Smart cars?

Strawberry (or Sally ) might be her name. :D

A two-seater is fine for me, especially if it saves me gas money :D

The US only recently imported Smart cars. You see them around sometimes, but they're ridiculously expensive for their size. Larger cars are cheaper!

Oh, I like Sally too!

We have been having Smart cars for quite a while, you never see too many, though. Mostly because the two-seater ones are too expensive for what they are. Yes, they are great if you want to save on petrol but the new crop of minis (lie Citroen C1, Fiat 500, Toyota Aigo and Peugeot 107) are very good if you want to save money on petrol (and think about the environment). There are Smarts with 4 doors too, but I think they are quite ugly.

And that car is a Sally.

YOu know, I really like Fiat 500 too, but mr. Alexander doesn't have enough head space there. He wants to buy himself a new car (where are all the plans about having a car and a bike gone, I say???) but occasionally he would need to travel in mine.

Sally is such a very suitable name. :D

Nice! A small car like that makes the most sense if it's mainly used to drive in the city.

I don't remember the latest developments, but what happened to your plans of riding a motor-bike?

Nice! A small car like that makes the most sense if it's mainly used to drive in the city.

I mainly drive to work from Wakefield to Leeds and do some runarounds to and from school, shopping, etc.. The main problem at the moment is the parking in Leeds which costs 7 pounds a day in a car park ** gasp **. I am not generally a stingy person but for some reason paying 7 pounds every day just to leave your car calls for a moral outrage from me. :D
There are some streets around our Uni where you can find a parking spot for free, but as you would imagine, the space is scarce.

I don't remember the latest developments, but what happened to your plans of riding a motor-bike?

This is still on. I rode the bike a couple of times but to get the license I need to go on a day course - I got sidetracked from this. Now Mr.Alexander wants to get a new car for himself too, may be I'll have more opportunities to ride the bike

In case you were wondering, it isn't cheaper to park here either. :)

Running small errands with the bike should make things even easier. Hope you'll find time to follow through with your plans. It should also be fun to ride the bike during the summer months.

I would imagine. :D Too many cars, too little space. Sometimes I see the fairness of it but on the other hand, the public transport here is quite bad. They should make it better if they want people to use less cars. For example, in Moscow the public transport is much much more efficient. But they still manage to have the biggest traffic jams I have ever seen.

I will eventually realise my biking plans. For some reason I think of you as a bike-rider..

I try to do as many things by foot as possible. I live close to the city centre so it's easy do most of the errands by foot. The big electronic markets (where you can buy vital DVDs) are located a bit more outside. But when the weather and time permits I like to walk there too. Since I spend so much time sitting at the computer I like to use those opportunities to move my lazy butt. :) And it's also easy to get there by bus. Public transportation here is okay given the size of our city.
I don't own a car myself but if need be I can use my father's car. Since they live in the same building that usually isn't a problem. But I don't drive very often.
I have thought about using a motor-bike now and then but I really don't want to make special driving licence and I believe with my car licence I'm only allowed to use a very, very small motorbike. Maybe I should look up what I am allowed to drive. And since my hometown is located in a valley, using a real bike unfortunately isn't easy since you'd constantly be sweaty. :)

The arrangement with your parents living in the same building sounds very convenient!!!

It is interesting that you think this. One of the things I noticed on a bike that when riding on it you feel really quite chilly, even in a good weather. But of course, I hate the helmets. If I was allowed I would never use it.

That arrangement is very convenient. Sometimes almost too convenient. :)

It's been ages since I rode a bike. When I did so it wasn't yet required to wear a helmet. Sad but true, we don't even own a bike anymore.
And yes, it's a very nice feeling while riding the bike, but the sweaty feeling comes afterwards. And depending on where you're going I think that can be a bit difficult. :)

You made me laugh - I love my parents dearly but I don't think I would have been able to live happily is the same building anymore. But I lived with them until I was 26.

I didn't get the sweaty feelings, but again - the warmest days in Yourkshire and not that .. hot..

I want to get my grubby hand on one of those! I love the color!

What gender do you want your car to be? Have you heard of the cartoon character, "Clifford, the big red dog." It would be ironic because your car is anything but big. But I guess people need to know the cartoon. Sigh..I can't come up with anything else.

I've seen several of them recently when I was in New York. Seemed to be quite popular.

Actually, I love Clifford. Thank you so much! I need to speak to my daughter - she has to approve. :D

There are few ariund here too, as well as it's sisters Toyota Aygo and Citroen C1. Lovely little cars!

I love your new car! ;-) During my trip to Cornwall I actually went around with a lady who had a red Peugeot that's a little bigger than yours. I think for some reason the name Sputnik for a car is just interesting :D
