+ We went to Sasha’s school for the annual parents-meet-the-teacher meeting. As according to the teacher, Sasha is exceptionally good at everything. The teacher kept going on about Sasha’s essays. He-he! One essay starts with “Once on the glorious Sunday morning”. The most confusing thing is that according to the teacher Sasha is unbelievably polite and “always has a smile on her face.” HE_HE!!! I had to ask the teacher if she was talking about my child or if there is a mistake. :) I am not sure still!!!

+ I have watched the first episode of season 3 "Deadwood". What was I doing in my life without this show?? I am in absolute love with every single line! The way the characters speak! O my poor heart! Every line is so thought-through, so marvellous. I am very confused to what is happening, though. VERY COMPLICATED. I haven’t seen season 1 and watched a few episodes in season 2 without success. But I am in love now, so I plan to buy season 1 DVDs and start watching it properly.

+ My first ”Deadwood” love is Al Swearengen. Why? Just look at this picture )

+ I have finished "Full House". Lovely lovely lovely. Some more on the Full House plus pictures I posted in [livejournal.com profile] dorama_chat

+ I have started watching "Goong". It is very bright and colourful. Main hero is as cool as ice and of course he is THE PRINCE of Korea! Main heroine is adorkable. The best thing about this drama is fabulousness of costumes. I can’t stop drooling at the sight of the heroine’s dresses. Absolutely unbelievable gorgeous. I keep forgetting to follow the storyline. There are many vivid colours, wonderful settings and interesting Korean music.

First screencap from Goong. UST!!!!!!!! )

+ [livejournal.com profile] baleanoptera posted about the new swords-and-sandals film "300" with Gerard Butler here. I can’t contain my happiness about this!! The film is made from Frank Miller's graphical novel and Mr. Butler plays Spartan King Leonidas.

+ If anyone wants a TARDIS for their garden, the link is here. He-he!!!

+ [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear recently made a post about the word "love" in three different Asian languages. She explained that in Japanese/Chinese language the word “love” is reserved for the very special occasions. And the word “like” is used more commonly. This is so fascinating!!! When I watch Asian dramas I get confused because sometimes I see the English word “love” used in subtitles and sometimes I see the word “like”. I wish I always knew which original word is used.

Russian language is similar to English – the word "love" ("lubov") can be used very widely and in all sorts of different meanings and cases.

But Greeks! Variety of different words for "love" in ancient Greek language! Agápē for giving love, self-sacrifice, love between husband and wife Eros for passion and longing, Philia for friendship and Storgefor affection (liking ?). (I apologise if I didn’t get the meanings correct)

I am wondering if there are interesting ways and different words to say “love” in different languages – German? Spanish? Hindu? Any other? I really would love to hear about some.

+ I am watching "Full House", episode 11 at the moment. I like it very much and it is a lovely rest for my brain and re-charge of my positive emotions level.

I like watching the change in Young Jae’s emotions – he starts with "eros" for Hye Won and annoyance for Ji Eun , but in the first 10 episodes he slowly develops Philia, then Agápē and finally Eros for Ji Eun. His feelings for Hye Won don’t grow and don’t change and slowly the strong and more vibrant, living emotions for Ji Eun are taking over. More on Full House plus pictures I posted" in [livejournal.com profile] dorama_chat

+ This is one of my "big" questions (don’t laugh!! :) – can one love two persons at once???

+ My ironing is not done yet!! How terrible! And tomorrow is the work day already!!! ** Hear tearing **. I must, must finish it today.

+ My Asian drama mania continues. I feel very sleep-deprived again because I was staying very late yesterday and watching "Full House" - Korean drama about complicated relationships of an actor and an Internet writer. First impressions from Full House and pictures I posted in [livejournal.com profile] dorama_chat

+ I was making dorama icons this weekend; I haven't finished them yet, though :(

+ I have watched some of "Jane Eyre". Meep. I am not sure if I like it. Toby Stephens is almost awesome in the scenes where Rochester plays his strange little games with Jane (Oh his smirk!!!) but I feel that this adaptation lacks the passion for me. I don't know if this is "just me" but I have always perceived "Jane Eyre" to be a very passionate tale. For me it holds more passion then "Wuthering Heights". Hmm. I must watch some more, but..

+ I have watched season 2 premiere of Supernatural and it was great! I think this was the first episode in "Supernatural" which really "got me". It is not just supernaturally-attractive Dean, but much more! I don't know how if this going to last or not, but GREAT!!!

+ Season 3 premiere of "Grey's Anatomy" left me with cold feelings. It seemed like anti-climax after the season's 2 finale. And I am not keen on Meredith/Mc Dreamy, never was, sorry!!!! He is a type of guy I don't like in RL and like even less in fiction - he will always make his woman feel guilty about everything he is guilty of and he will never make her happy.

+ I am back to working at the charity shop after the holidays we had in August and I am buying too many books! Honestly - our charity shop is the best place for books!!!

+ I am so tired and in a rush to start making dinner (chicken with white wine sauce :) - I apologise for spelling and grammar!
