I am in a middle of a massive icon spree (on which I am spending all my non-working time), so I have to be really really short:

The episodes were really good. We are through 70% of this season! I LOVE Tyrion and I LOVE Bronn. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Jaime is also my poor darling.

Cersei is continuing to be shown as a poor misunderstood woman who loves her children and loved Robert and now even allows him to hit her, when her man Jaime is not there to protect her (I know the hitting scene was in the book, but the accents the show placed are the show's). I have seen few comments from folk who think that this Cersei makes much less misogynistic representation of a woman than the book's Cersei, but for me it is the other way around. The book Cersei needed no one and loved no one, but herself and Jaime (as a mirror of herself). And she loved her kids as a mirror of herself as well. She was a younger copy of Lord Tywin. And isn't Lord Tywin so so awesome? He is probably my favourite casting in the show, and he is definitely my favourite evil character, I just can't help but admire his intelligence (even when it is evil) and his cool .

One last note: This show definitely has a thing about whores and brothels.

Waiting for your icons!!! *squee*

Just finished episode 7 and Gosh loving Tywin and Littlefinger so much. They are both such terrible persons. It's insane.
Episode 6 was flawless and I love episode 7 but I found the scene with the whores a bit unsettling. I loved Baelish speech because how enlightning was it right? And the way he's modelling the girls is going to come back with Sansa later. But the all sex noises were a bit too much this time. Oh HBO.... you never learn to stop sometimes ^^.

Osha was also brilliant. Very different from the books obviously but still awesome. Her scene with Theon was incredibly good. Evertyhing that is symbolic of those two characters came right there.Few words. Big impact.

I can't believe there's only two episodes left. I don't want to quit it :-(.

I have always had a soft srot for Tywin. And the way he is cast - this is just such an icing on the cake. I am going to enjoy every moment of him, I thought his scene with Jaime was the best in this episode (even though Bron'' defending Tyrion's honour was also good).

I have never been interested too much in Theon (I know you like Ironborn), but I am warming up to him in the show. oh, show! So many surprises.

Baelish and his whores? I think I could do with one scene of Baelish whores per season. One in every episode - this is too much. I actually love the lactor, but I might change my mind .

I love Aiden Gillen. Perfect Baelish and all. And I was fond of the girl who plays Roz or whatever her name is but I don't care about her. HBO please? This is not Roz and the Games of Thrones.

She may have more lines than some more important characters. Wae?

Oh the actor playing Tywin has a deadly stare :o. This is so Tywin.

The guy playing Theon has the right flavour. I knew I had to trust this casting ^^. He's rightly annoying but you're also seing where we came from and how he feels about the all situation. Good job *thumbs up*

I love him too, I really liked him in "The Wire", but the way the show is going with Baelish and brothels it might put me off (and I still have not forgotten that Baelish was gived Sandor's scene).

And Roz? honestly - WHAT IS GOING ON?????

It is probably the first time I want to try to understnad Theon. I want to re-read the books now, I might warm up to the Ironborn.

OMG. Episode 6 was awesome. The first one I've really really liked after the pilot. Everything was powerful and well paced. Finally Ned has found out about the hair color hint (too little too late though), and the proud look Drogo Gave Dany during that sort of initiation? Priceless. As it has been Viserys' Death.

When Cercei was ranting against sick-in-bed-Ned for the first time I've recognized the Cersei from the books. But I have the feeling they are going to keep on showing her vulnerable side..

ps: Episode 7 has already been aired? I've only found the 6...

It was a little anticlimactic. I mean- my daughter has blond hair and both my husband and I are dark-haired. People ALWAYS point this out to us, always. Wouldn't it be the same in that day and age? I know they didn't have any idea about genes, but they still noticed those things.

There was a moment when I though "WOW! Cersei!" but then Rob hit her .. and.. I didn't like how she reacted.

I agree. It was fleshed out better in the novels, especially after Jon Arryn's last words, which make sense if we consider blonde hair as a recessive tract into Baratheon House.

I still hope a lot of things were developped better, but I know I can't expect too much considering there are only 10 episodes, and a lot of things must be placed there.

However, I hope we'll have more sparks of "true Cercei" in the future ^^

I think this is the main problem - the book is so massive and to fit it in 10 episodes is difficult. I think they did a good job as it is!I wish they could make 22 episodes. :P

I think if Cersei starts to be the evil self I like, I might get confused as to what is going on inside her head. It doesn't look as if she is "faking it".

I loved the Tywin scene. (and the morbid symbolism in having him skin a deer/stag. Hee) I also adored the conversation he had with Jaime, and his whole mocking demeanor in "Go ahead, say something clever!"
Ahhh, Tywin - bullying your kids is never a good solution to anything.

For the first time I also really liked Sansa. I've been sort of apprehensive about her, but I think the scene between her and the Septa and then her and Joffrey were really good. Poor Sansa. It's so hard to watch, knowing what is to come.

On the whole I agree that these episodes were really good, and they've seem to have the pacing and editing better under control than in the first few episodes.

This show definitely has a thing about whores and brothels.

Groan. Oh yes. I could have done without the sex scene and Baelish talking. Less is more HBO!
(btw. My money is on the whore Ros as replacing Shae in the narrative. They've built up her character for a reason.)

Lord Tywin scene was pure gold, symbolic, beautifully shot and heart-breaking. It was disconcerting to see Jaime who always has something to say to be so unsure of himself. Oh, our parents. This scene made even stronger impact as Jaime is a bit older than the book Jaime.

I amd continue loving Sansa, she is one of few actors who has already completely merged with Sansa in my head. I don't remember the details of the book, though - did she have a kiss with Joffrey (the actor that plays him also did a great job).

But brothels - GRRRRRRRRRRR! Why do I have to be subjected to this? I think you are right about Ros, but seriously - is there only one whore in the whole of Westros???

Don't you think they are just lulling people into a false sense of Cersei being a mistreated Queen? This way the audience comes to sympathize with her only to be betrayed and shocked when they see how truly awful she is? There is much more of an emotional impact this way and I have a feeling that is what the show is going for. I say wait for the whole season to unfold before making a judgement on how the show is portraying Cersei. We may be more than halfway into the season, but there is still a lot to happen.

I've also read some grumbling about Sansa and the smartass way she talks to Septa Mordane. I can also understand why they are doing this. Because we can't get into the character's heads they have to go about making Sansa seem snotty and diva-ish in a different way. This way when the audience starts to dislike her and dismiss her as a spoiled brat what happens later will have more impact.

Joffrey was so convincing when he talked to Sansa and gave her the gift and made all those "seemingly" heart felt promises. Who knew he was such a convincing actor.

All this is to build the viewers up for a shock. So I say wait till all the events of the entire season unfold. I have a feeling we won't be disappointed. :)

I'm not watching next Sunday's episode early. This way I have something to look forward to. ;)

This is what few people in [livejournal.com profile] game_thrones community were suggesting (a great community, BTW!)

For me, if certainly there going to be a big reveal of evil Cersei , I might get even more confused as to what is going on inside her head.

I have not heard anything bad about Sansa yet. But I adore her character, she just reminds me of my daughter full stop (smartass remarks one moment, another moment sweetness).

I am not that strong. I would not spoil anything, but just say that the episode 7 felt as a continuation of the episode 6.

I'm a member of [livejournal.com profile] game_thrones, but I admit I don't read all the entries.

I have to say I like Sansa in the TV show better than book Sansa. Although I think the angriest I've gotten so far in the book was reading how Prince Joffrey treated her after he became King.

I watched episode 7 yesterday. lol. It was there. Calling me. Now I have to wait a week and half for the next episode. Pfft. :)

That place is probably my worst nightmare too (even though there are other horrible things for other people along the road). I hate Joffrey the most, I think. ** stab, stab, stabbity stab ** And how could a mother (I mean cersei) allow him to act this way!!!!!!!!!!

Hee! I wonder if this Sunday there will be a preview for the episode 8? Or not?

That's exactly what I think. That is why she is so evil.

Episode 8 was written by GRRM. I can't wait to see it. :)
