Thank you + The Listener

Thank you so much for all your well-wishes, I am back to 100% normal. I have slept, watched "Black and White", "Fringe", and Korean drama "Fly High" (I love love love this drama, may be the best drama I watched in the last three month. More details about "Fly High" here).
THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
Also I have been watching Canadian show "The Listener". It is quickly becoming my favourite of the season. The premise is similar to the one in "Thoughtcrimes", a 2003 film that actually was a pilot episode of the show that never went ahead: a paramedic Toby Logan (Craig Olejnik) can read your thoughts. He helps to fight crime. This wasn't instantaneous love for me, more of the "Craig Olejnik is pretty I must watch this" phenomena. But slowly the show is catching up with me: it is pretty, it has lovely cast and awesome female characters, it promises interesting backstory developments. It doesn't have boringly silly plots like "The Mentalist" and it doesn't hit any of my annoyance buttons. I like stories about mindreaders.

Reasons to watch The Listener
Reson 1: Craig Olejnik is pretty:

Craig Olejnik is cute:

He was born to wear a cravat. May be he is related to Richard Armitage, for the awesomeness of his profile has no bounds:

Craig Olejnik's eyelashes are long and thoughtful:

He has a great OTP with a no-nonsense female detective (Lisa Marcos)

WHo can rescue anyone any time:

And doesn't believe him:

She is gorgeous:

Also:
1. I love the show's colouring
2. Enis Esmer plays an adorable friend of Toby's
3. Colm Feore plays Toby's suspicious doctor / father figure
In other new, my daughter and I reached the 170 (!!!) episode of Japanese anime "Bleach". I think I have never seen so many episodes of anything.

Date: 2009-04-30 08:25 pm (UTC)Yes I am! I've finally reached the backlog of eps saved on my DVR. I'm in the middle of the Bount arc. It's pretty boring, but I'll get through it. :)

My daughter's crush on Hitsugaya is so huge it is not even funny. I am not allowed to like him anymore, he is all hers. :D
Yoruichi is total girlcrush material.
Absolutely.

Date: 2009-05-01 01:46 pm (UTC)I reaaaally want to meet the Hollow characters! Especially Grimmjow. People seem to dig him a lot.
Oh that is so cute! Okay, then I won't like him either. :D

Date: 2009-05-01 03:36 pm (UTC)170 is a LOT of episodes to have watched! Even I am only up to 160-something in Prince of Tennis, which is the most of anything for me too.
Have you ever watched the j-drama Tiger and Dragon? I'm watching it now and it's very good.

Date: 2009-05-01 03:48 pm (UTC)We just started "The New Captain Shusuke Amagai" filler arc, it is not as bad as Bountou. At least we got to see all the captains again. :D
I haven't seen "Tiger and Dragon", but I have heard many good things. I must try it!

Date: 2009-05-01 12:30 am (UTC)I watched the entire first series of the Naruto anime (220 episodes with 85 filler episodes in the row at the end!) and about 50ish of the second series before I gave up and just started reading the manga.

Date: 2009-05-01 01:10 pm (UTC)Gosh, 220 episodes is a lot. But "Bleach" is over 200 episodes long too so I guess eventually we'll be there. It helps when you forwind the beginning and the end songs.

Date: 2009-05-01 08:25 pm (UTC)Oh, 'Thank You' is totally up that alley, you know! It's probably the best after-mil-service Jang Hyuk thing I've seen (DaeMang being the best pre-mil-service one, so far anyway. *g*)

Date: 2009-05-06 06:56 pm (UTC)Actually, they are both main... sort of. And both quite flawed characters. Kim Nam Jin's Seung Hyun isn't all that likeable all the time either, especially at the beginning. The Prince is a spoilt brat to start with but he grows up. He rather grows on you too. He's darned funny before the waterfalls start. Both guys have major 'daddy issues'. *g*

Date: 2009-05-07 05:10 am (UTC)Thinking back, I feel that the story is just as much about the guys and their relationship as it is about the girl. And they do have more in common than just her as well (something that gets revealed pretty early on). It's a very bumpy relationship considering they really have to learn to get along and co-operate. There's quite a bit of jealousy that has nothing to do with the girl either. I found the undercurrents below the fun parts, the romance and 'your normal k-drama angst' interesting.
What I liked as well was that there were no crazy characters, they were all more or less normal, faulty human beings.

Date: 2009-05-06 04:21 pm (UTC)Regarding your addiction to Korean dramas. I'm getting increasingly worried. Have you thought about joining "Korean Dramas Anonymous". ;)
More seriously, since you're always open to new things, how about learning Korean?
Re: Life's over
Date: 2009-05-06 05:45 pm (UTC)ha-ha. I promise to write about other things too. For example -I watched "Marley and me". TWICE (it just happened). Many tears were shed.

I have been looking for Korean courses, but I couldn't find any that could have been convenient. Plus I have few other ideas - I am contemplating doing Masters degree next year. :D
Re: Life's over
Date: 2009-05-06 05:57 pm (UTC)I've stopped being surprised about your plans. :) A Master's Degree in what field? Computer Sciences? Or is that an expression about something in general (I'm not very familiar with the specific English ways to acquire knowledge).
Re: Life's over
Date: 2009-05-06 06:06 pm (UTC)Yes, I am thinking of doing Masters in Computers. It is either this or I'll try to go working full-time to pay-off the morgage quickly.
Re: Life's over
