Life: evil Russian Roman

I have caught up on "Life" viewing!!!! I can't stop but noticing, however, that for some current shows the current season can be named "Evil Russians are coming to get you":
1. "Spooks"/"MI5" - Russians aim to explode a nuclear bomb in the middle of London. I liked "Spooks" in the past for the fact that the show always tried to stay balanced and not to look for an outside enemy to make a scarecrow from. It seems that this has changed , sadly.
2. "Life" - it seems that this season can be classified as evil Russian Roman vs good American Charlie. My prediction is that we will find out eventually that Roman is the driving force behind everything, even Charlie's imprisonment and all the FBI and Police guys - they just were forced into it!
** sigh **

Date: 2009-02-14 09:17 pm (UTC)I liked both episodes. I wasn't sure if I would still "feel" it after the two month break but I didn't really have a problem to get into it at all (I skipped again through the last show from December to better remember what was going on). I just enjoy watching it. Sometimes I don't care about the cases they solve but I liked both of them.
I just read in one of the communities that Sarah Shahi is pregnant. Not sure what that will mean for the last few episodes from this season. Hopefully they have most of them already filmed (imdb counts up to 22, so there are eight eps left) so that they don't have to make up any weird plot developments.

Date: 2009-02-14 09:43 pm (UTC)I was referring to the fact that the FBI guy didn't come to shoot Charlie because he wanted to, but because Roman made him do it. :D This was a bit too far fetched. :D
I liked the episode about the NASA guys, it was quite interesting. I am very fond of all the extreme sports. D

Oh dear! I didn't know this! I hope indeed that we don't have any weird plot developments! Though I kind of like her odd pair with captain Tidwell more and more.
I enjoy watching "Life" too, I am not watching too many TV shows at the moment, I seem to find them all boring this year. I only watch "Life" and "Fringe" (almost a remake of X-files :D).

Date: 2009-02-15 06:49 am (UTC)After the previous episode in the night club that was pretty much a given for me. So I wasn't surprised at all. :)
I liked the NASA eps and also the rock cover band eps. For a change I even was able to sing-along with most of the songs they used in the eps. :D And I liked the typical "music-fan" dialogue bits between the characters. And the attempts to give Dani a nickname. I smiled a lot in that episode. :D
Reese+Tidwell also isn't a problem for me anymore. Though to be honest, I completely had forgotten about it. I'm pretty good when it comes to suppressing things like that. :D
Me neither. And you certainly didn't see it in the eps that already screened. But there were also some pictures. And by now she's very pregnant. So everything that isn't filmed yet, they won't be able to hide it. Unfortunately I've no idea how far in advance those TV episodes are created. If it were a movie then I'd say the whole season would already be finished. But on TV, I don't know. And soon there will again be the whole discussion if there will be another season.
The only other show I watch is "30 Rock". It makes me laugh and it's only 20 minutes long, so it barely counts. :)

Date: 2009-02-15 11:03 am (UTC)I loved the nickname part. I hope this comes back - it so suits Dani!! Doc!!!!
The additional funny thing for me was that we have a guy at work who looks 100% like Al and who is also called Al. I was also glad that the dentist guy didn't happen to be a killer, as it is a usual cliche with dentists.

I don't know too - remembering the strike it seems that may be a half of season? Judging from the present episodes it seems to be that Sarah is very slim yet!
Few other LJ friends watch "30 Rock", I might give it a chance!

Date: 2009-02-15 12:21 pm (UTC)I'm slightly confused. Who's Al? Is that Tidwell's first name?
So far Sarah's very slim indeed! I want to feed her. And care for her. And ... ;D
Since I know some of the shows you usually like to watch I'm not sure if you'll enjoy "30 Rock". It may depend on if you have the same weakness for woman wearing dark rimmed glasses (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4048853248/nm0275486). ;D Or Alec Baldwin.
But you'll find out quickly if you like it or not. If it doesn't make you laugh after 2-3, maybe four episodes then you can stop because they are all relatively similar (I started with the second season, and it's the third season now). And it doesn't really matter where you start, there's only a minimal "story arc". Sometimes there are a few jokes that refer to earlier episodes but that's the exception. It's just a quick, fun 20 minutes to watch.

No. :D Al was the name of the guy who was killing the lead singers, the homeless man. We have a guy who looks JUST LIKE THAT and he is so very talkative too, I wonder if he was a singer in his former life now. :D
I quite like Alec Baldwin, and any woman wearing glasses in a comrade to me. :D Decided - I am going to give this a try!
Also - I must add I am enjoying your "Dani shooting things" icon very much!
Also - I loved the jokes abut "President rang him", so timely too!!!!

Date: 2009-02-15 02:28 pm (UTC)Ah yes, of course! My bad. I have a mad memory. In that episode I wasn't able to keep the names of all the fake singers apart. :D But Al is clear, of course.
Since I don't think the show is broadcast in the UK I guess your colleague doesn't watch the show. But maybe you can ask him if he was a singer in an earlier life. :)
Thank you! I wish I could better animate icons but I think it's okay. :) I took some notes yesterday for some screencaps (from the evil Russian episode in December). But right now I don't want to make more "Life" icons (I already use so many).
I think we can agree that those were the funniest episodes in quite some time. :D

I want to learn to make animated icons - I know the basics of making them, but I laways wonder what tricks some people use to make them so .. smooth. But your icons rocks - some of my friends commented on loving it!
