I had such low expectations for "Wanted". This happened to be just another proof that low expectations are very good to have sometimes. I felt I must watch "Wanted" because it is Timur Bekmambetov's first Hollywood movie (and the first movie that seems to have been popular). It looked like one of the films that are made purely for special effects and overall, I enjoyed the special effects A LOT, in a no-brain-engaged exilirating way. But what surprised me was how fresh the film felt. May be it's pull was in a lovely way of not treating itself too seriousy. Or may be in it's crazily done parody on action movies. Or may be in some rather sharp satire on the office-dwellers. Anyways, this was fun. Not a masterpiece, but a nice pick-you-up film.

Among all the numerous flashy special effects the "bullet-bending by the power of the mind" deserves a special notice. And the creative use of rats. I predict we are going to see more of bullet-bending and rat-usage in the future action movies.
One of things I liked the most was the cast. Some of the best American, British, German, Russian and Georgian actors in one film - how this can not be good? Also for once in a Hollywood movie, Dato Bakhtadze and Konstantin Khabensky didn't get to play mindless evil guys with no lines. In particular, Dato Bakhtadze absolutely made my day with his role of THE BUTCHER.
