Korean drama love: Resurrection
Dec. 10th, 2008 04:45 pmI was recommended this drama by
timescout. This is one of the dramas I wish were better known. It was made by Park Chan Hong, the same guy who did wonderful "Mawang/Devil" and touches on the same themes : revenge, manipulation, deceit. The story is about twin brothers (both played by Uhm Tae Woong) separated at the moment of their father's death (one of the favourite cliche's of yours truly) at the hands of his "friends". Although one of the brothers got lost and lost his memory he has grown up to be a cop as his father . He starts to untangle his father's death and eventually finds his other brother, who has grown up to be a Vice-president of a large corporation in the family of one of their father's "friends". But as the brothers meet, as they say "by the cruel twist of fate", the Vice-president brother is taken for the cop-brother and murdered by the same guys who killed their father. The cop-brother vows revenge and takes upon himself the identity of the Vice-president brother. THIS IS SO THE COUNT OF MONTE CHRISTO.
The drama is made by an awesome cinematographer, Byeon Chun Ho. The angles, the scenes, the colours are very fascinating and add to the story. The storylines make good sense so far (I have watched 8 episodes). The drama has angst and it has forbidden love between the Cop Brother and his adopted pseudo-sister Eun Ha. He is very honourable about it but he can not resist:

( Forbidden Kiss Scene. With light-houses. )
