I loved this book. My head is quite light from reading for few hours straight and finishing it in one day but it was so great to have this book-reading binge (and compliment it with a stack of chocolate eclairs) ! YAY holidays! I guess I am still pretty much in love with vampire stories,
meganbmoore! "Twilight" is just another prove that a "beauty and the beast" type of stories is my complete weakness.. Especially when the monster in question is aware who he is and tries to stay away and is protective to a very crazy degree. ** sigh **
This book was totally worthy a strange look I got from a "Waterstones"'s book shop assistant when my daughter and I were buying it (and another book, of course, for her - "The Wind in the Willows" :D). The guy was so clearly calculating in his mind - "HMM, you look a bit too old for this, lady, and your daughter looks too young!." HE-HE!!!!!!
Now, would he remember me tomorrow when I roll in to get the sequels for "Twilight"? I am so tempted to do this as they have "buy one get another half price" sale on children's books (where "Twilight" was surprisingly categorised) and I don't want to wait for these books to be delivered from Amazon..
Just a couple of quick questions:
- Not spoilery: Are the sequels worthy of getting a strange look from the shop assistant again? Are they any good?
- Will Edward turn Bella into a vampire one day???

Date: 2007-10-29 01:21 am (UTC)First, I need to go further through NM, too, but the latest days were extremely busy, and some way I'm still recovering after reading Twilight. Anyway, no matter what happens and no matter how cute and lovely Jacob might become - I know I won't change. It's just me, it's my nature, once I fall in love with somthing - be it an idea, a concept, a book, anything, just name it! - it goes along with me. I fell in love with Edward, I'll stay in love with Edward. It's something beyond my ability to explain :)
I'm sorry to hear about the headaches.
*hugs*
Isn't there some medication you could take? I got pretty much used with my glasses and eye troubles, you could guess that by my long experience of wearing them, right? :D
Also, you'll be happy to know I began watching Moonlight.

Date: 2007-10-29 10:05 am (UTC)As I think you've read at my LJ, I fell in love with Edward at firsth sight, actually, the first time he opened his mouth and said something witty. I totally understand his reasons for leaving, you know - he had to do it, and he had to do it in a cruel way, in order to prevent the break up for being even tougher. Perhaps he is selfish, in his own way, making decisions for both of them, but he is also right, in his own way - again, because Bella has to know real life first, and then accept a fate of immortality. I guess that, by leaving, he offered her this chance.
I'll read your post and express my thoughts a bit later, I need to finish the book myself, first. I hope you don't mind :)
