Sapuri
I have watched the first 2 episodes of Japanese drama "Sapuri" this Tuesday. I am so-so about this drama yet. I am not sure if I like Minami, from the first glance because she seems to be thinking just about herself and her career. She is not trying to give anything to the people around herself and everything seems to be revolving around her goals. But may be there will be some layers in the future.

Also I can't quite figure out what Kame's character Ishida Yuya is going to be. An idle type of a young man who is too afraid of confrontation and who is ready to give up as soon as he encounters any barrier on his way? It is difficult to tell but I am not in love from the first sight.

TV advertising
**rant alert. I apologise if someone on my friends list works in an advertising firm, I don't mean anything personal and this is just my thoughts of the moment. I am going to regret this.. :D **

** sigh ** "Sapuri" reminded something I have strong feelings about. :D I really dislike TV advertising. Hmm.. I am not in love with the encroaching of commercial advertisement into EVERY aspect of our world but I find non-TV types of advertising to be much less pushy and invasive. Sometimes when I look through a fashion magazine I enjoy the adverts in it. Because the fashion magazine seems to be a reasonable place to look at the fashion or perfume adverts. Sometimes when I pass by a nice billboard with a lovely picture of a gorgeous man smiling I smile back. I don't have to look that way if I choose not to. BUT!!! When I am watching "Battlestar Galactica" on Sky and then in the most unsuitable moment of the dire danger a TV advert about some soap powder kicks in - I DO NOT LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! With the big passion!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess it is just a bad, bad timing..
** end of rant **

So you can tell that the setting of "Sapuri" (a firm that is producing TV adverts) doesn't sit well with me yet. :D I cringed when Minami did a tirade about the "TV advert that changed her life". I am so sorry, I can't relate. If I think anything when I watch a TV advert about a little doggy in the rain it is that the little cute doggy is getting exploited for the money purposes and that the producers should be referred to RSPCA because cruelty to animals=wrong. :D

The advert in question:

What do you think of TV advertising???????

My sentiments exactly, and that was one of the many reasons why I didn't like Sapuri/Supplii.

I am so glad you understand :D I was afraid I am totally silly. :D One of my big things is an exploitation of pets and children for the advertising purposes and I particular dislike when they make pets wear some silly human closes of some sort. These are pets, people! They are not toys!!!!!!!

And another big thing for me is how effective TV advertising is on children. They just take everything at the face value!!! Sasha is always asking for everything she sees on TV.

Yep, that is what I think too. My god child is like your Sasha too, once it is on TV she wants it. Last time they had a cutesy-cutesy ad with a little puppy on TV and Gina said she wanted such a dog. Too bad, the puppy was a Border Collie pup and Border Collies needs work (both mental and physical) to be real happy dogs. I had a hard time to persuade my god child and her parents not to buy a Border Collie pup.
I know how energetic Chica is, who is only half a Border Terrier, but like the Collies they need work, work, work or they are not happy. Unfortunately TV Advertising always use special breeds and create fashion dogs that suffer greatly both in their homes and in animal shelters. We had a huge surge of Dalmatians a couple of years back, after the movies. Now it is Weimaraner/Pomeranians.

Oh, yes! The Border Collies are one of the most popular breed in the films and adverts because they are so easy to train. But is reality they can't really happy without LOTS of exercise. This is why we couldn't have a Border Collie even though my husband really wanted a Collie. He used to lodge with the old lady who had two border Collies whom he trained. But that was during the time when he lived in the countryside and had more spare time because he was single. Now we can't really provide enough stimulation. Terriers are also very active breeds but they need less. We try to do at least two big walks around the park a day..

And people buying big dogs for a present - I can't understand it. It is so important to choose the right dog for you, the one you can cope with.
