+Army in the Shadows: I watched it on Tuesday in “Bradford National museum of film and television”. I think that it is a truly outstanding film. Made by the famous French director Jean-Pierre Melville, it has many amazing actors in the cast. Film tells the story of the French Resistance during the Second World War. The story is given in all it’s truth of day-to-day work, terror, betrayal and many hard decisions. It is definitely the best film I have seen about the French Resistance.
It is one of the films where it is difficult to tell which actor made the biggest impact. They all are absolutely awesome. If I must choose, I would say that Lino Ventura (playing the main character Philippe Gerbier) and Jean-Pierre Cassel (Jean François Jardie).
+Lino Ventura has terrific screen presence. He is all authority and can be called burly. Well, I think he is burly.

+Jean-Pierre Cassel is the father of one of my current favourites , Vincent Cassel. Jean-Pierre Cassel is just soooooooo attractive.

+Earth and Fire: I am getting both of these wonderful films from Blockbuster on-line. May be they are already at home! Yay!!!!!!!! I am really really excited about watching these films. I have heard so much about they recently! Yay again!!!!
I also realised that Earth/Fire/Water thrilogy’s director is Deepa Mentha. I saw her absolutely adorable film “Bollywood/Hollywood”. YAY!!!
This is why I used this icon. I am not sure yet if it is finished, but !!!!!!!
+Prison Break: Michael and Sara had the hottest stare session in the human history. And then he said something along the lines “It breaks my heart that I know after everything I have done you are not going to trust me ever”. My heart is broken.
+Great weather Weather is absolutely wonderful today. The warmest day of the year. I am going to put my new summer shoes (three pairs acquired during the last month)
+Meme
realtanala tagged me with "My 5 weird habbits" meme. Here they are,
1) I don’t like mornings. I sleep until the last minute possible
2) I like to stay late at night.
3) I love spoilers. I always look at the books (or films) ending if I can. I don’t like it if I can’t. Because I can’t cope with getting in vested in some character (or relationship) and realise suddenly that he is the mother-killer. I coped very badly with BSG developments. Thank you
queenofthornes and
syliasyliasylia who in their different ways helped me through it.
4) I own too many clothes.
5) I like new things and forget old things. I am sorry!

Date: 2006-05-04 06:27 pm (UTC)O my poor heart! How he was saying "I love you Sara" with his eyes, and then he told her EVERYTHING in short sentence - "I am getting Lincoln out of here tonight", and you could see him taking a plunge inside and making himself to do it. ** Sighs **
Water is the movie I've liked the most this year so far Have you seen the other two?

Date: 2006-05-05 02:58 pm (UTC)I didn't know how Jean-Pierre Cassel looked! But I do love Vincent Cassel!!! I find him pretty hot ;) I got a crush on him after Brotherhood of the Wolves!
About your '5 weird habits' I also happen to have numbers 2, 3, 4, 5 (although about spoilers, in books, I try not to read the end, but I do pass some pages to see how things are going to be, ;) )
btw, I had to repost the comment because I hit 'post comment' too early ;)

Date: 2006-05-08 04:13 pm (UTC)I think I've got most of his films that have been released on DVD over here. Have you seen Brotherhood of the Wolf? If not, get hold of it asap, it's a great film. I love it. L'Appartement is another good one, though it makes no sense.
And while I'm here (as you are maker of my default icon), Idris Elba is going to be in It's All In The Game on ITV1 on Thursday this week :)

O, thank you so much for mentioning it! I didn't know about it at all. I really appreciate it!

Date: 2006-05-09 07:49 am (UTC)L'Appartement is a great film (Monica Bellucci is in it too, and it was remade as the dire Wicker Park - don't watch that), and he's also in Birthday Girl with Mathieu Kassovitz (Amelie's boyfriend in Amelie), Nicole Kidman and Ben Chaplin. That's quite a good film.
oh, and how could I forget La Haine? It's a great film, and one of his first, I think. Mathieu Kassovitz directed it. Well worth watching if you haven't seen it.
And (oops, sorry for going on, but I do love Vincent) at the weirder end of the scale, there's a film called Dobermann, which also stars Monica Bellucci (did you know they're married? I didn't for the longest time), and it's...odd. Just odd. But quite good if you like guns and explosions and stuff.
And obviously there's Ocean's Twelve, in which he is cooler and smarter and better than than Danny Ocean and his boys. Of course, he is Vicnent Cassel so it doesn't take much doing *g*.
...I like him a lot. can you tell?

Date: 2006-05-09 03:38 pm (UTC)I haven't realised Vincent is in the "Oceans Twelve". I have seen "Oceans Eleven" and was not very impressed because similar you say I was rooting for Andy Garcia for I found Danny Ocean to be a little boring. I must watch "Oceans Twelve" (Adding to the Blockbuster on-line list. Adding all the rest of films with Vincent too. SQQEEEE!)
...I like him a lot. can you tell EEE! I like him a lot too, and I am really really thankful for all this recs!

Date: 2006-05-09 04:36 pm (UTC)The Ocean films aren't that amazing but Vicnent looks wonderful in O12, and there's a great scene in a museum with him dancing, and some scenes where he is doing yoga and is shirtless...
we tend to fast forward through the bits he isn't in ;)
Glad to be of help! He is my absolute favourite actor and I could just watch him in anything (a note of caution, though - he and Monica are in a film called Irreversible where basically Monica's character gets raped and Vincent and a friend go looking for revenge - it's a very, very difficult film to watch so I'd avoid unless you have a very strong stomach).
I'll let you know if I remember any of his other films (I haven't seen Derailed but he's in that) *g*

Date: 2006-05-10 01:33 pm (UTC)I am like that too, I don't know if I am right, but I feel sometimes that you can tell when actor and actress have an attraction in RL , and nor just on a screen. It creates a wonderful chemistry. :)
great scene in a museum with him dancing, and some scenes where he is doing yoga and is shirtless...
Sounds really yummy!!!

I know what you mean - I do it with mu favourite scenes often. DVD is great for finding a necessary scene! ( I remember what a pain it used to be with Video).

I find films of this kind quite hard to watch... :(
And thank you so much again!!!!!!!

Date: 2006-05-10 04:09 pm (UTC)Oh, yes. One of the many reasons I love DVDs :) Especially with Ocean's 12.
I found Irreversible really hard to watch - I watched it partly because it was them and partly because I'd read interviews they'd done about it, but yeah. Never watching it again, put it that way.
And thank you so much again!!!!!!!
No problem. Got to do what I can to spread the Cassel-love *g*
