Thank you so much! I am glad you like them - I really wanted to express how much I like "A Love to Kill", and Rain, of course ;)

I am so glad you like them! The thing is, as I was making them I just craved again for a re-watch (or something similar). I have got "Sang-doo" now, but it is not the same, if you know what I mean :(

Yeah, ALtK is exceptional.

Re: Sang-Do. How far in are you? Ep 4 (I think. It's the one they almost go back to hometown) kills me.

Do you mean the one where she is drunk and they stay in a hotel? It is great! I am watching "Sang-doo" in spoilery mode and I a up to episode 12. (As I am watching "Nobuta" and "Kurosagi" too.

It is just so clear that Rain went a long, long way in his acting skills between "Sang-doo" and ALTK.

Yes, that's the scene I mean. I am on ep 9 actually.

It is just so clear that Rain went a long, long way in his acting skills between "Sang-doo" and ALTK.

agreed. I was especially thinking that during the scene where he was telling his Uncle he didn't want to work as a gigolo any more. It's a panicky desperate scene and he had a lot of those in ALTK and this sort of thing came across so much more believable in ALTK.

But it's still a lot of fun and got me to cry, too, so yup, enjoying it a lot.

Rain comes across as a very cute gigolo for me :), and as you say, there are all these funny scenes. Also he gets regularly beaten up, and you know - Rain seems to look so well with wounds! It is like Takeshi+running = so very hot, but in his case, Rain+wounds=so very hot.

In ALTK he was hot-intense, but in "Sang-doo" his persona comes as very similar to "Full House" - cute-and slightly childish. (OK, until angst kicks in. He is my king of angst!!) Actually, I am thinking about re-watching ALTK, it is not letting me go!!

I am glad you like! I think I want to re-watch ALTK, it was so so good. Rain's singing is growing on me too - I have two clips "Move on" (OMPH! Rain in cool clothes) and "Sad tango" (I love this to bits) which I am constantly listening to.

I haven't seen ALTK yet, but it's on my to-be-watched list which just seems to be getting longer and longer :). I'm already in the middle of four (4!) different doramas (Silence, Meteor Garden, Kurosagi and just started Gokusen), so ALTK will have to wait for a while...

EE! This is just like me - I am watching "Nobuta wo produce", "Kurosagi", "Tatta Hitotsu no Koi" and "Sang-doo, let's go to school" at the moment. Japanese dramas are easier to handle, they are much shorter. But ALKT is great great great ( though not a "happy feel") drama. It is so good, I wish I could find something similar NOW!!

Oh, and I like "Sad Tango", too. I think I will hunt the net for a few more clips by him when I get home.

Lovely and wonderful [livejournal.com profile] winterspel posted a couple of Rain's clips (.avi, should this be fine for you?) here :http://winterspel.livejournal.com/208006.html alongside with the other lovely clips of Yamapi. You need to see "Move on", believe me!!!

Stupid computer doesn't seem to be able to play anything :P, but trusty old Youtube came to the rescue :). Rain certainly is verrry nice.

I also just spent an embarrassingly long time checking out different Yamapi clips at Youtube... That boy is so fine! He can sing and dance and act, too.

Have you seen this vid of "Daite Senorita"? *fans self*

Wow! Thank you so much for the clip! I haven't even realized that it was Yamapi himself singing in this song in "Kurosagi". And facial wounds - he looks very fine with them!!!

** fans herself too ** . I need my "Kurosagi" watching, I feel!!

Have you seen "Equilibrium"?
Of course ... I've seen it... besides this movie has the additional hotness of Sean Bean; and in a lesss shallow note, it's also a fantastic movie.

The scorching factor is unbearable.
Tell me about it... *fans herself*

All these icons make me want to see Ljuksa again. :) Although, I didn't like the ending very much and the plot wasn't strong but I just watched it purely because of the intense acting from Ji Hoon. ;) Min Ah comes off as a bit goofy sometimes but she's pretty cute.

Regarding Sangdoo, I got up to episode 13 and decided to call it quits. XP

Nice work on these icons, I like its simplicity. ^_^

Oh, his acting is great there! It is incomparable with his acting in "Sang-doo". ALTK's ending, let's say I could do without it. But at the same time for me it was very logical consequence from the psychological state Bog-ku was in, from his loyalty to his brother. Everything could have turned differently is the brother didn't say the things he said on the death bed.

But didn't he tell them to be together? Or am I confusing it?

Ah, you see this is the worst part for me and this is where Dostoyevsky comes in. In my opinion, the fact that Kang Min-joo told Bok-gu "to get together" with Cha Eun-suk is the worst possible thing what could have happened because it totally tipped the weights of guilt in Bok-gu's mind. Because by saying this, Kang Min-joo revealed that he KNEW about them two. (and of course this is what he was so upset about prior to his death). And I hate Kang Min-joo for doing this, this is passive-aggressive on a maximum scale. He didn't think about his brother or his feelings at all in doing it.

If he kept his mouth shut, may be (and I say may be) in the future years Kang Min-joo could have forgiven himself and Cha Eun-suk for everything, could say "OK, my brother died happy". But in this case, all he could ever think of in the future was : "I was a cause of distress to my beloved brother. I am cursed". And he could not change ANYTHING because the brother is already dead.

Oh, it all breaks my heart, but I learned to accept the ending because it was inevetable.

From: [identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com
Now that you put it that way, it makes perfect sense. Because if brother (whom I hate btw, awful awful person) did not say anything, Bokgu maybe could have just come to be with Eunsuk eventually because he'd be able to think 'We did our best and we did our duty and we did everything we could.' But not here, both of them got hounded by guilt (though I don't know, shortly after brother's death even if he didn't say anything, would Bokgu have been able to indicate anything but that one perfect day was it? And then ES would have died anyway etc etc)...

Argh. Poor characters!

I dunno, I got the feel that between brothers death and "perfect day" there was some time span of couple of years. I probably need a re-watch.

Supposing so, but I completely forgot most of the Ljuksa's plot so I can't really comment on that. XP The only thing I remember is the amazing screenplay, like at the end of each episode the frame flashes and you see the vibrant unsaturated effect afterwards with the drama's 'logo' displayed which was pretty cool. ^_^

I really think that cinematography was most excellent in ALTK. Really quite un-like any other drama I have seen. "Goong" is very lovely made , but the rest is nothing to write home about.
