Dream High: the end. With confusion

I thought I would never mention "Dream High" again, but it appears I have to. I am quite confused after the episode 16 , I will try to explain:
My last predictions (after the episode 11) were right and they were wrong:
1. HyeMi and Sam Dong are shown to have feelings for each other, but so far (age 28), they are apart. And not in the way of "I will finish my dream and find you afterwards" (like in "You are beautiful"), but simply apart. They had a sad kiss with tears 10 years ago, and now HyeMi sings songs about her lonely friend and Sam Dong is winning over the Western market. It seems that the creators of the drama weren't brave enough to face the hate mail from Taecyon's fans and at the same time they weren't brave enough to face Kim Soo Hyun's fans too, so they decided on a win-win solution for the pairing dilemma: a love from afar.
2. I have heard many comments saying that "Dream High" was not a drama about love triangle. I am confused again: for me the drama was very much about the love triangle, in fact at the end, it appeared to be a classical love triangle where the girl has feelings for both guys . The classic love triangles always confuse me; I don't know how it is possible to be in love with two people at once.
3. More confusion: what is so special about Western market that all Korean stars dream about conquering it anyways? Guys, I tell you now that there is no chance. Not unless you start singing in perfect English and work on the musical side of things.
4. I can't suspend my disbelief that Kim Soo Hyun will ever be able to become a big singer in Asia, let alone USA. If Rain couldn't do it, there is no chance for Kim Soo Hyun. He doesn't have musical abilities and he doesn't have stage presence. I think he is a decent actor (as far as Kdrama acting is concerned) , but that is all.
My verdict: Although I quite like open endings, I don't like confusing ones and I appreciate it very much when the creators stand by their decisions. Consequently, my ratings are: 5/10. But not all is bad , there were some really good things in the mix. I just noticed how excellent Taecyon's cheekbones are, for example:
