alexandral: (Chuno - Dae Gil sad)
[personal profile] alexandral
There is no "Bad Guy" today (boooo!) so I had some time for extra surfing and one thought came to my mind; "Oh! What is Jang Hyuk doing?". He was amazing in "Chuno" but disappeared from the the scene straight after the end of the drama, to take part in a Chinese re-make of an old hit, "All about Eve". I found some promo pictures of this, although there are not many about and "All about Eve" is not even listed in Jang Hyuk's Drama Wiki page (I wonder why).

Anyways, the pictures amused me greatly. I like the look of the drama, but even more , I am so amused that Jang Hyuk's character looks like an absolute opposite of Dae Gil. Good bye scruffy sharp-tongued rogue, hello well-groomed sweetie! He has even curled his hair!

PS: Where can i find this drama????????? I want it!!!!!!!!!

Also, in totally unconnected, I WANT this too: Lee Byun Hyun's new film, "I saw the Devil". I have no idea what this is about, but I like the title and I love the picture below, it reminds me of "Bittersweet Life":

Uhm, no I think I'll stay away from this drama. *gg*

@ I saw the devil
Saw the trailer (no subs) and it looks fantastic. I'm really looking forward to this.

But just look at the locks!!!!!!!!!!! ** grins ** And he looks 10 years younger!!!!

I have seen few more pictures from "I saw the Devil" - it looks like a movie version of "Iris", to be honest. I don't know if you have watched "IRIS" (conspiracies an evil spy organizations) already, I am stuck right in the middle of it, but it is generally quite good.

I want my Dae-Gil back! *gg* No, I'll stick to my decision watching only Sageuks. I might do the opposite in any second (mainly because of Iris), but so far I'm not tempted. *gg*

Speaking of Iris, no, I haven't watched it yet, but I might consider putting it on my to-watch-list when I'm finished with Jumong...which I hope to start in August. I have three weeks of vacation and one of those weeks I'm at home with no plans whatsoever (besides being super lazy).

I want to see Dae Gil again too. I am seriously considering a complete re-watch of Chuno. Sageuks look so good on my new big TV, I am tempted to do a "big screen" rewatch. But I am also starting Dong Yi.

I have a feel you will like IRIS, it is incredibly well-filmed, but it also resembles sageuks in some way (may be in the fact that everyone is larger than life?).

Do it, especially Chuno :D I think I'll rewatch it soon, too, because I managed to get a friend interested in sageuks, she is currently on her way through Kingdom of the Winds and Chuno is next on her list. We already watched a couple of KoW episodes together. Since she lives on the other side of Germany we chat via ICQ while watching which is alot of fun. :D

But I am also starting Dong Yi
Hope you like it as much as I do! :) I'm currently stuck at episode 20, because no subs and can't wait for the next episode.

friend interested in sageuks: this is so awesome, I want one too. :D

Dong Yi seems like like/like material to me. I have warmed up to the King , so I can't wait to start it!

She already watched a lot of Asian movies (mainly Korea) with me before this and thought that Chuno looked pretty cool, but it's because of Emperor of the Sea and mainly Song Il-Gook she became really interested and asked for copies. Since it's so long she started with Kingdom of the Winds and so far she is totally addicted and loves it to bits. Yeah! :D

Unlike another frined of mine who loves Koren Movies, too, she also loves to watch tv shows in general. My other friend doesn't want to invest so much time, be it western or eastern tv, but that's okay.

I have warmed up to the King , so I can't wait to start it!
No, I won't start to rave about how awesome he is and how funny...again... *coughs* :D

Hee! I started with Asian movies first too (I have been interested since I was a teen, which was long time ago). When I watched "Untold scandal" I was reading about the movie and came across the info the BAe Yong Joon is a Korean drama star. "They do dramas?" I thought. This was the beginning. :D

Oh, i understand that!

:D

I am SO torn about this remake. On one hand, I haven't watched the original yet so, since I'm spoiler-free, I might enjoy it, on the other, it's a C-drama and usually I'm not...fond of them. Also? it's a *remake* and meh! *Remake*, you know? Then again, it's Jang Hyuk, what to do? Ahhhh. See? Very torn.

I wanna watch that movie too. God, Bittersweet Life was SO harsh.

I don't think I have seen a single C-drama. i have watched quite few Taiwanese, but this is not the same, right?

I am surprised there is not much interest about this drama. There seem to be more news about that new film Oh Ji Ho is in (even if it feels like a film where he'll die half-way).

I saw in the news that UK bought "I saw the Devil". I might be even able to watch it in a movie theatre.

No, it's not the same, but they're similar. I *think* TW-dramas look more low-budget than C-dramas, but heh, I'm not much of an expert. They do share some similarities though like the over-the-top situations the characters usually find themselves into.

IDK. I tend to read more blogs or comms about kdramas and yeah, there's not much talking about this drama there, but maybe there's much hype in the C-fandom?

Oh that's so cool! I'm always giddy when I see an Asian movie on tv here. I was posively hyper when TPTB aired Bittersweet life and Oldboy and I could even switch the language to Korean (I love our subscription to some digital channels. *g*)

I think there are some good C-drama wuxias but I haven;t awatched any yet.

Me too!
We have a good movie theatre in vicinity here, in Bradford museum of media. They show Asian and European movies. But Oldboy was positively mainstream, it was shown in many other theatres too.

Thank you so much!!!!!!! This looks really good, and I like firms about serial killers. It does remind me of Bittersweet life, which is understandable considering this is by Park Ji-woon.

In unconnected: our radio is playing Lovely Lena's songs A LOT.

Looks indeed good. There will probably be another trailer but I already have seen enough and I want to see the movie.

That's good to hear. She suddenly disappeared from the serious media reporting after at the beginning of the week our president suddenly resigned and thereby took over the headlines. But that's a good thing because we had a lot of Lena in the last couple of weeks, so a Lena break right now is welcome. But good to hear that her songs have started to capture the UK airwaves. I guess that means she will turn up in international music charts soon. :)
