OMPH! OMPH! DG hugs SH tightly in front of UN!! I adore his noble behaviour but at the same time – NOOOOOOOOO! This is the end of the episode 20 already! When are we going to get any OTP interactions?? Will it be stolen glances only and nothing substantial!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!

I bet the only big DG/UN interaction we are going to get is when he dies. And even though I adore TH/UN, that makes me bitter. :(

You know, I am with you on this. But I am like that - when everyone was dissing TH and saying "he is this and that" I felt like protecting him because I totally didn't see what everyone was saying. Now TH seems to be out of the woods, but what about DG/UN OTP. IT WAS PROMISED TOO!!! It seems that we are at the 21 (!!!) episode of the drama and we get what usually happens in the episode 6 (he pretends for "her own good" that he loves some other girl). Scenario that "she will close his eyes and give him the last kiss just before death" seems more and more possible. (I have a tiny little hope that the spoiler kiss will happen in the episode 21, though)

Also, I might go and rant all over soompi about this (luckily I am going out for my friend's birthday today so this is unlikely) – but what about SH?? Why DG is playing with her feelings? One day he slaps her, another hugs her tight, what has she done to deserve this? In a way, I agree with meganbmoore – SH is a very very interesting character. She is not a toy for he writers! (YES I AM ANGRY)

I don't like SH - I don't hate her but I am indifferent to her, tbh (still better than my husband who loathes her because he thinks all she does is cause trouble and is probably imagining himself having to travel with her :P)

So her angst doesn't particularly interest me. But I agree, it's not a nice thing of DG to do. However it is in character. DG is not a noble person. He can care deeply and do his utmost for those few he loves, but a hero he is not. And for him UN trumps everything - it's been established. If he needed to kill SH to save UN's life, he'd do it without thinking twice. (Reminds me of some Victorian novel where the hero told the heroine that she was his religion - that is basically true for DG).

Ultimately, unless SH dies or anything, she's still better off than where she was - slave hooker for a theater troupe, even if she never gets DG.

(Btw, of course she is a toy for the writers - they all are. As long as the character behavior makes sense, it doesn't bug me too much).

I yearn for a DG/UN scene but I honestly cannot imagine how they would have one - UN is a married woman. And a very honorable one at that, who loves her husband (even if she may also love DG). I just cannot see her allowing that to herself.

I also don’t like SH, I am even a bit like your husband – I find her annoying. But you see, I am for general fairness, and in a way I try to overcompensate when I don't like someone .:D She seems to be like a stray cat for DG – pet one day, throw away the other.

Also, the thing DG did to SH reminded me of the stuff that was happening in "Pick the stars" where the Small Uncle tried to Manipulate the Big Uncle using Pal Gang. I was angry there, I can't see why I shouldn't in DG's case. :D

It kind of goes back to the fundamentals of DG's character. I started thinking more and more that he will end up dying indeed. Someone living just for one woman – this is not a life anyone should have, it is a twisted, damaged, hard life that will never have a good ending ** is sad** I was really hoping that he will start picking some revolutionary ideas too, but it doesn't look like it so far.

Don't think so. If a person lives in shit and then suddenly they are brought into a nice place and looked after but shortly after they are thrown back into the shit – it is much worse for them than if they would have never were out of the shit.

I can see the similarities but it's not really the same thing. There he was using the girl but it was also for a couple who wasn't going to get together as his bro loathed stalker. Here he is only bad towards SH, yes, but at least it's to protect an existing marriage.

Yes, I think he is too damaged to have a sustainable life - it's like he locked up his hopes of the future and his goodness and even his soul in UN and he cannot really function as a person. The writers talk about hard-won hope which gives me so hope to think that maybe everyone won't die but if it will have in any way a positive ending it would be through TH/UN. I cannot see hope for DG at all.

I could see a hope for him two episodes ago, but now we are two episodes closer to the ending and he doesn't seem to be doing any movement towards hard-won hope. On the other hand, TH is moving. Actually First Love is always trumped by Main Character thing - first love only holds if it's two main characters loving each other. If one of first love people is a secondary, forget it. Not that it helps here as both UN and DG and TH are mains :)

There are dramas where heroine moves on though even from the main guy - Queen Seon Deok, her first love was General Yushin, and he was more of a main character than Bidam was. Or Spring Day - her first love was Ji Jin Hee but then she fell soe Jo In Sung when JJH was in a coma.

And in a gender reverse, fans are still arguing about who Jumong loved more - his first love Seosono or his second love...

Exactly. My mind boggles. To some degree, I see what the ladies on soompi mean saying that DG is a title character. But still, my mind boggles. TH is getting lots and lots of character development and he is definitely equal in my eyes and I usually pick up easily the creator's intent and rarely ship non-main ships . I losing faith in my analysis skills.

But is he responsible in perpetuity? I think as long as she isn't worse off with his interference, it's OK. And on balance his presence in her life is a good thing. Plus, SH would have to be an idiot to think that hug means something (and we know she doesn't think it does).

Actually, I applaud the autors for even going there -TH/CW story is developed in flashbacks and nothing really explained but bit by bit from their actions CW's obsession becomes clear.

Yes - the creepy thing is that CW functions like an automaton for most of it (even when killing people) but with TH he comes horribly, focusedly alive. I mean, the most awake and happy we've ever seen him was in the torture chamber!

I really want Lee Jong Hyuk in a good-guy leading role - he was so wonderful in Powerful Opponents but he always gets stuck in the villain roles, does them excellently so gets cast again.

I personally don't like SH, but not o "principle", it just something about her that grates me. So I try to overcompensate and be fair to her. She hasn't done anything wrong, if anything, she was trying to comfort DG, etc. etc.

Hee! Look at this in a positive light, this can mean that UN will realise that DG DOESN'T love SH and that he still loves HER. I would rather say this conversation can lead to all sorts of fluttery feelings.
