I have been patient up to now, hoping that as promised all LJ problems will get sorted by the end of this week, but i think i am starting to worry now (this is THE end of the week).

What mainly affects me is E-mail notifications.
What is difficult for me to understand is that why sometimes some of my friends comments (from the same user) are coming through with the e-mail notifications and sometimes they don't. This happened with [livejournal.com profile] ginger001 comments, for example.
I am not getting any of the E-mail notifications of [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear comments and do get regularly notifications of [livejournal.com profile] winterspel comments (though some of them could be missing).

Does anybody know why this happens? DO you get E-mail notifications of [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear comments? (they are precious to me). Do you get E-mail notifications of my comments?
If this was because of some Network like AOL filtering out notifications as spam, i would imagine that it was happening with more consistency. I am baffled a bit..

I have watched "Shakespeare re-told: Macbeth" which is set in the restaurant environment of our days. I thought it was quite true to the original and very good. (thank you [livejournal.com profile] ginger001).
It is all about food, cooking, lots of blood and ultimately almost made a vegetarian out of me; [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear 's story of the jumping prawns happened around the same time - and i definitely will think twice before eating prawns. ;)

James McAvoy is such an eye-candy (and acts well, of course) and can sing!

So i am now in Shakesperian mood and all the bloody scenes of cutting somebody's throat over LJ-problems are popping into my head *Russian joke*

I'm not sure why the notifications are so inconsistent; I can only point you to [livejournal.com profile] lj_maintenance where they are explaining things and there are discussions of the problems. I'm also having spotty notification, but it's gotten much, much better.

I am a bit sad because I really, really want to see these "Shakespeare retold" episodes, but I cannot get into UKNova ([livejournal.com profile] ginger001 told me about it) as they are not taking new registrations right now, and I don't know when they will again...

I must run, as Nic wants to go shopping and is dragging me out to the door. :)

Thank you! I will look up lj_maintenance

UK Nova is a bit difficult to get registered on. I have seen an explanation on one of the forums, that they have certain amount of slots only. But there were good news - they advised to try many times as slots are getting opened as UK Nova does "clean up" and deletes old accounts. I have tried to register agian and again (same day, probably during 30 minutes time) and then - wow, it just worked one time (the slot must have been opened). See if you have time to try again and again ;)

I watched it in two days , finished yesterday..

James McAvoy was so cute and at the same time quite menacing at the end, and it must be difficult for the actor playing a part like that - visions and remorse, he is one of my favourites now. (And singing in the kitchen)

I discovered ShakespeaRE-told this week and I downloaded Macbeth, Much Ado and Taming of the Shrew... I love the Much Ado version, the two protagonists have great chemistry together and are great at delivering all that witty dialogues. And the part where Benedict asks Beatrice to explain the meaning of that sonnet... *dies* I've also seen the Taming of the Shrew and loved it, unleashed "Moaning Myrtle" is great and Rufus Swell does a great job as well... I haven't seen Macbeth yet, but seeing James McAvoy it's a really good motivation XD

I also have lots of probles with LJ lateley, I get emailed half of the comments I get when I'm lucky. I hope this will be fixed sooner or later, it might be caused by the move to new servers or something like that.

I have seen "Taming of the Shrew", but missed "Much Ado..". I love the old version with Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson, i have seen it many times. It is just one of this perfect adaptations..

Rufus Swell was so bohemian, exotic, eclectic and everything in the "Taming of the Shrew", but i thought that Shirley Henderson was a bit over-doing it, just a bit ;)

The Kenneth Branagh version is one of my favorite movies, Kenneth and Emma were just brilliant in that movie, and so cute together *sighs*

LJ is being a bitch now, no arguments there, but this is nothing compared to what we went through on Jan.14, 2005. Now that was a Black Friday indeed! [twitches] LJ went down, and I mean everything was gone, for about 24 hrs (or slightly more). Without any warning, just boom and nothing there, except for rarely updated progress messages on the main site. It turned out they lost power and something about back ups, too. Anyway, all turned out well, as far as I know nothing was lost... and there was much rejoicing all around. (And paid users got some extra paid time)

For me, the worst part was losing access to contact info for people on my flist. I spent the next day clinging to several good internet friends in IM (and I rarely use IM), but I had no way of finding out where everybody else had gone. Frankly, we didn't expect to get LJ back. [twiches again]

Thank you!

As [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear said, i am glad that this is not bad as it was that time (i think i will write down e-mail addresses, though ;)
I think i forget sometimes that this is non-for-real-profit organization and they may not have resources enough to keep it safe, updated, backuped and so on; And that Internet is highly volatile place anyway.

I am here! And you are precious to me, too and I am beyond frustrated by this whole notification thing. I've discovered that for posts to MY LJ, I get maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of notifications. If I post to someone else's LJ, I get even less so it means if I post to anyone else's lj, I have to go back later to see if they've replied!!!! It's quite frustrating.

Nonetheless, after reading what gobi_rex says, I'm grateful that this is not so bad this time. Maybe we should make sure we all swap emails and MSN details in case LJ crashes completely :P
