Oh, I love all of them, and will take a huge bunch.

Oh Gwan Pil.

YAY! I am so glad you like! Oh, Gwan Pil! I have never expected to like "Powerful Opponents" so much and I don't think i would have had liked it as much if not for Lee Jong Hyuk who plays Gwan Pil. I will have to make a picspam soon, I feel!

So beautiful! I like the style of this set. My faces are 14, 12, and 10. Not sure if I'll ever have a PO icon, though, since I still can't get over RT. Heh.

You need to watch "Powerful Opponents" ASAP I woud totally love to send you this when all the subs are out. I have a feeling you will like this - girls don't come as good as YJ in "Powerful Opponents" very often. Here I am the feminist. :D

Heee... I actually have from episode 1 to 3, but with Indonesian subs. Dunno how faithful they are to the Korean language, but so far they are seem to be quite understandable. But please tell me, who does Heroine end up with? I don't want to be disappointed :D

This is the BIG problem. no-one knows yet. [livejournal.com profile] dangermousie and I are rooting for Gwan Pil. I have got used to the President's Son but he is NO GWAN PIL. I hope the ending will not be as disappointing as the ending of Hong Gil Dong was.

Ah, I agree. I want Gwan Pil to end up with Heroine :D As for ending of HGD, I am in the minority that found it to be not disappointing. Yes it was sad, but I found the way that the ending was packaged to be quite beautiful and only added to the bittersweet and mellow feeling that I kept feeling towards the end of the serial.

You see, I was a bigger fan of the Prince than of Hong Gil Dong. I felt that the character of the Prince went all over the place, from someone who was basically good with some reserve issues to someone who could murder his best friend and HIS TRUE LOVE, in a blink of an eye. Why did he save HGD then? And even if we ignore this as a minor thing, the main question still remains - Why did he murder HIS TRUE LOVE? It just feels as if the screenwriters didn't think all this through.

From: [identity profile] miss-dian.livejournal.com
I never felt much for Prince, but I sympathised with how things turned out for him in the end. I felt that he was in the dark for so long, hence to throw away all that he fought for most his life would be a total waste.

Why did he murder HIS TRUE LOVE?
Hmmm. I don't think he wanted Yinok to die, and he did ask her to stay, but he knew that her heart was with Gil Dong. He knew that ultimately it was no use to try to keep Yinok by his side at the consequence of breaking her heart (and perhaps killing her emotionally too, by having Gil Dong killed). So it was a very tough choice - either to be the King or to let his loved one go.

I can absolutely understand your disappointment though, especially because you felt more attached to Prince than Gil Dong. I was more emotionally vested in Gil Dong/Yinok, so for me the ending, albeit heartbreaking, was still okay :D

He-He! You see, even though I understand the appeal of Kang Ji Hwan to some degree, I never got over Hong Gil Dong's " stupid girl" remarks and Yi Nok submissive attitude to him. Why would she think she is stupid if not for him calling her so all the time? My feminist side wanted to strangle Hong Gil Dong all that time. :D

I understand what you saying about the Prince, but it still doesn't compute thar he, who loved Yi Nok so much (he put his life on the line for Hong Gil Dong, after all!) just went ahead and murdered her.

I wasn't a Prince/Yi Nok shipper, I just liked his character and felt that the ending was emotionally exploitative, without consideration for character development. Hee, I should not start on this subject, it is just a drama and some of them just don't fit with you personally. This is my drama that I don't like but everyone likes.

Why would she think she is stupid if not for him calling her so all the time?
Actually I think from the very beginning (ie. when she met the prince on the ship), she was already referring to herself as "stupid" ~ so I don't think she thought that of herself merely because Gil Dong was calling her "stupid girl" all the time. Moreover I think with Gil Dong it became an endermeant after a while.

Hee, I should not start on this subject, it is just a drama and some of them just don't fit with you personally.
LOL. Yes, I suppose we all have those kind of dramas/movies that we just don't like, while everyone else loves. For me it is My Girl :D

I meant to ask for some time - what bothers you in "My Girl"? I mean - there is no bad endings, no twists, etc? :D

From: [identity profile] miss-dian.livejournal.com
I don't there is anything in particular that bothers me about My Girl. It is an adorable drama but I never got into it because the theme was similar to many romcom dramas that I'd watched before. Perhaps if My Girl was one of my earlier dramas, I would have liked it more. I can't really figure out myself why I didn't like it better. I watched My Girl the Indonesian release though, that is, with Indonesian subs. Something tells me that subtitles is an important factor for me. I find official English subs and/or fansubs to be more accurate, and more descriptive. But nonetheless, I did try watching My Girl twice already, and still could not get in to it. The only other (shallow) reason that I can think of is perhaps because I am not such a big fan of the male leads. Lee Dong Wook and Lee Jun Ki are great, but I am not rabid about them the way I am with Joo Ji Hoon and Bae Yong Joon ^o^

From: [identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com
I see! This makes sense, and I agree that subs and such are important. I have been watching the first 14 eps "Blood +" anime with bad dubbing and this was bothering me.

But as to pretty, I understand too - I am not yet fully "in love" with Kang Ji Hwan and this may be why I am less invested in HGD as a character. Shallow, but true. ;D In "Capital Scandal" I was more about the secondary OTP.

I thought Lee Jun Ki looks strange at first, but not for a long time. :D

Oh yes, I think doramas are total babefests so if we're not into the lead actor (and even the lead actress) then we have less reason to fall in love with it overall, LOL. I am currently watching Mawang and OMG. Besides being a very beautifully shot drama, the cast are gorgeous which makes me even more hooked!

In "Capital Scandal" I was more about the secondary OTP.M
Yup, they may just be my fave secondary OTP ever :)

Re: Lee Jun Ki. I've never thought of him as strange. Perhaps strange because he can be so pretty yet can come across as a man at the same time :D [livejournal.com profile] dangermousie was spoiling me with pics of him from Time Between Dog and Wolf and I totally thought he looked hot (and manly) ^o^

Oh yes, the ending of HGD worked for me.

This said, if heroine of PO doesn't end with Gwan Pil, I think I will kill something.

We can go on a killing spree together. But by what [livejournal.com profile] timescout is saying in the comment below it seems that Soo Ho is destined to die heroically. I hope so , I don't have anything against him (now that he stopped being ugly :D) but it will be for the best. :D

Ah, good to hear I am not alone. I didn't understand why everyone was so mad :D

I utterly empathise. I don't want Heroine to end up with the Twit.

PS. I have finished episode 3 of Mawang and OMG. OMG. Yes baby, YESSSSSS. Finally, a director who knows how to capitalise on Ji Hoon's fabulous face and tall, slender frame. And we keep seeing him in slick suits! Amen! No more frilly, pink jumpers and strange polka dot bow ties *glee* Seriously, I want to smooch the director. So beautifully made, so much pretty people, and the emotions, yo. So raw. I am beginning to fall in love with both Lawyer and Cop, especially when they had a face off at the interrogation room.

And did I mention foreplay in the library? When Lawyer was totally checking out Librarian, and he had a blissful smile on his face? Eeeeeeeeeee! :D

Yeah, the ending made me bawl like a baby, but it totally made sense, story-wise.

I don't want Heroine to end up with the Twit.

He already got a girl in another drama, so it's his turn to lose :)

Oh yes. This is about the only drama in which I adored every piece of clothing on everyone. JJH looks positively scrumptuous!

So raw. I am beginning to fall in love with both Lawyer and Cop, especially when they had a face off at the interrogation room.

Oh, it's going to get even rawer and better! Promise. Side note: if there is anything hotter than JJH as he breaks down, I have yet to see it.

And did I mention foreplay in the library? When Lawyer was totally checking out Librarian, and he had a blissful smile on his face? Eeeeeeeeeee! :D

I loved it. They have so much chemistry!

I really, literally squeed watching Ji Hoon in Mawang because he looks so beautiful in so many close-ups. Urgh. I love that both Uhm Tae Woong and Joo Ji Hoon are totally perfect for their roles. I used to think that Ji Hoon was just a tad bit too wooden in Goong. But in Mawang he's just divine. Every minute is absolute perfection.

I think I may have to watch this drama from the beginning again as soon as it ends.

I might re-watch it when I know the ending too . Unless it is something of HGD's ending, I am scared. You never know these kdrama endings. :D

Well, I could be totally wrong of course but it feels awfully like it's going towards Soo Ho ending up dead while heroically saving Young Jin... or Gwan Pil.. or both. You see, one of the (male) characters seems to be loosing it and is stalking either Young Jin or Gwan Pil. I don't think he means any good....

Oh, it must be that crazy boss guy. Crazy mini-managers are the great peril. :D

He-he! He looks much better in the later episodes when he rids of his funny hair. But Gwan Pil - i like him that much that I can marry him!
