Taiwan Drama I love: The Outsiders
Jul. 7th, 2010 01:19 pmI am on the episode 11 now, but I have spoiled myself (with fast-forward) for the rest.
I can recommend this drama to anyone, it is something that can appeal to many different tastes as it is genuinely deep and original but with a good doze of good-looking people and wonderful brotherly love story (especially I would rec this to![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
mnemo_syne and any other fan of "Mars") .
I do rant a bit in this post as I can't stop thinking about different aspects of the story and many aspects affect me deeply. To preface the rant, I love the drama immensely. My feelings for some of the characters don't change the fact that the drama is unflinchingly realistic and true psychologically. I can see some problems with the main herouine's character from a feminist's POV, but at the same time I think her character is very realistic and if women like Yu Yan exist in RL, I accept it. The drama does go to some length to show that Yu Hao and Yu Yan are not a starry-eyed OTP, but two people who would have been much better off apart.
