Moonlight: episode 5 "Arrested development"

I just have watched episode 5 – OMPH! If there ever was a show that absolutely fit into the "how to bring the most amount of guiltiest pleasure to Alexandral" category this is officially THE ONE. It is even better than any Asian dramas! For one thing, it moves much faster and in the episode 5 we are already having this FANTABULOUS scene:





It is Mick's voice-over again! "May be it's the sum of the million coincidences we don’t quite control that brings us at a particular place at a particular time " Mike drops the car keys – this made me laugh as this happens to me regularly and I can relate.. ;D



"Or may be it's the choices me make, the actions we take"Beth is looking for Mick.



If there is anything I've learned in 85 years is that what we want doesn't always matter" Beth startles him out of the depths of his brooding:



There is not many things that are cuter than this: Mick is re-assuring her that he wasn't lurking or anything, he just dropped his keys!



Beth "You just took off". Mike "You were kinda tied up with your editor". This is his "bad liar" face. He is avoiding her again. Cute, cute, cute!




Beth "You could at least have said 'good bye'". And as Mick starts saying "good bye" she kisses him! This kiss is kind of too fast to decide if it is a proper kiss or "thank you for saving the girl's life" kiss. But poor Mick is done for!





But she is not going to leave him wondering and she kisses him again. Voiceover: "What we want doesn't always matter but again, sometimes it is all that does." Ok, but why did she run away now? Aren't' they going to explore why a vampire/human combination doesn't work in THAT way and if there is a way?




















PS I am left to re-watch it again and again!

PS 2 Josef is back! And he wears black shirts (amd burgundy shirts!)

I enjoyed the episode too. Sophia Myles making faces while pretending to be an escort on the phone make me giggle. As did Josef's expressions through that entire scene - first he was looking at Beth like she was an appetiser, then it was like he was thinking, "Mick, buddy, you better snap out of this puppy dog thing you have with her."

Eeeeee! I watched it twice last night. The kiss at the end was so great and his little smile. I don't know why she ran either. Maybe she just wanted to give him something to think about.

I also loved the scene in the car where she asked him about "the sex". I was actually waiting for that scene and I'm so glad they did it. The look he gave her was so intense.

And Josef, upon meeting Beth for the first time. I swear I thought he was going to start woofing. lol.

I have a confession. Mick and Beth's relationship is happening exactly the way that I wanted Angel and Kate's relationship to happen. Which, as we know turned into a big disappointment and went sour really fast. I wanted Kate to be curious and ask Angel all kinds of questions and not be afraid like she was. Oh well. We have Mick and Beth now and they are so cute. :)

Next weeks episode looks really interesting. Mick doesn't stand a chance.

Can he get any cuter? Sigh. That adorable little smile at the end really did me in. I think Alex is getting more expressive as the episodes go. He seems to be more at home inside the skin of Mick now. I love those eyebrows lifts too.

Josef is rather growing on me too. That scene where Beth enters the room with the 3 vamps - funny! The were all totally lusting for her, ha. And Mick gets very protective all of a sudden, awwww.

Soooo, where do we go from here? More denial? I recall reading somewhere that Alex said in an interview that Mick and Beth are not 'making babies' or anything like that yet. Besides, in the light of next episode it can all end in tears pretty darned fast.

Have to watch this episode again. I haven't really digested everything yet.

Thank you for posting these recaps! It gives me something to do during the week when I'm not obsessively rewatching the episodes on CBS.com. ;) I'm just thrilled and relieved to find more Moonlight fans.
