Korean drama love: Hello! Miss
May. 15th, 2007 06:03 pmIt has been a while since I had my last mad Korean drama love. Though I like "Mawang" very much I like it more in the way I like Western shows then in the way I like Asian dramas which usually give me pure emotional high. But EEEEEE! I am watching TWO great Korean dramas at the moment: "Hello! Miss" from the
allbloomedout recommendation and "Que Sera, Sera" from the
fivil's recommendation. I will talk about "Que Sera, Sera" later as soon as I can say anything more coherent then "OMPH! Eric Mun is hot" but this post is mostly about "Hello! Miss" and how it is Great Great Great!!!!!
Oh, I just love "Hello! Miss" because:
+ It has wonderfully happy story that is immersed into the old Korean culture. In a way this is like a cross between "Goong" and "My girl". This drama was adapted from a novel and this is showing in the coherency of the story and the characters. Lee Soo Ha (lovely Lee Da Hae) is a heiress of an aristocratic Koren clan and the mistress of an old estate, Hwa Ahn Dang. Through her attempts to raise some money to support her estate she meets two cousins (Hwang Dong Gyu played by Lee Ji Hoon and Hwang Chan Min played by Ha Suk Jin), grandchildren of a man who used to work in Hwa Ahn Dang and who is now a leader of a big financial empire and who wants to acquire Hwa Ahn Dang for himself.

+ I adore the main heroine, Lee Soo Ha. She is quite similar to the previous role of Lee Da Hae, Joo Yoo-rin from "My Girl". May be a little cross with Shin from "Goong". :D She is a young girl whose mother died long time ago and whose father had left them some time before that. She has too much weight on her shoulders because of the estate management, financial problems and responsibility for the people of the estate. But she carries it all with the spark. And she is so breathtakingly beautiful. I didn't realize before what a great dancer Lee Da Hae is. She does a traditional Korean dance with drums in the first episode and it is WONDERFUL!
I found an Yutube clip of the old Korean dance with drums that Lee Da Hae does in the last episode of "Hello! Miss". SO VERY AWESOME!!!!
+ This drama is filmed beautifully, with lavish costumes and amazing nature landscapes.
+ There is so much of the lovely eye candy. This drama has three gorgeously looking Korean actors that I haven't seen before. Yep, they are definitely doing something with their gene pool in Korea and I must go and visit Korea and see it one day with my own eyes.
Three so different but so hot male characters in Hello! Miss
1. A Cheeky one: Hwang Dong Gyu played by Lee Ji Hun. I Lurve him. He is such a good pair for Lee Soo Ha because they both are happy and very resilient personalities with the great sence of humor.
Some of my favourite screencaps, Lee Ji Hun is so very pretty:

A couple of pictures of Lee Jo Hun. ** swoon **

2. A good friend: Hwang Chan Min played by Ha Suk Jin, very supportive and loyal. He is a player who wants to change his ways when he meets Lee Soo Ha.
Some of the screencaps of Hwang Chan Min. Dimples alert!!!

A couple of pictures of Ha Suk Jin. Very elegant.

3. A gentleman: Lee Soo Ha 's half brother Lee Joon Yong, played by Ryan. He looks a little like Joe Cheng and this is an immediate plus. :D
Screencaps: Lee Joon Yong has a lovely and ** Spoiler ** happily ending OTP with the "third girl", Suh Hwa Ran. I really like them together because Suh Hwa Ran is all stroppy but she meets her match in Lee Joon Yong.

The "third girl", Suh Hwa Ran

+ And to end this all well – JUST LOOK at the kiss below. I haven't reached this moment yet but I DO LIKE IT SO:

Date: 2007-05-16 08:38 am (UTC)Don't you think Lee Jo Hoon looks similar to Joo Ji Hoon? Cute. And hot *sigh*
He definitely is from the first sight. But when I was watching more of "Hello! Miss" I started thinking they are not THAT similar looking. Lee Ji Hoon (I am so sorry, I made a mistake with his name!! Even their names are sooo similar!) is very funny and Jo Ji Hoon is my king of cool.
And they have almost the same names - Lee Ji Hoon /Jo Ji Hoon. Ji Hoon must be their first name?
Have you seen any of "Hello, Miss!"? I know you are very busy right now but this is such a great drama ! So funny (and of course angsty ion parts)!! Good after stress! I had a hard day on Friday but "Hello! Miss" brought me through it..
