I hope my post from yesterday didn’t precipitate any kind of friending/not-friending anxiety...
O, totally no! I was thinking about this for a while – I have 3 or so people on my friends list whose entries I like to read from time to time, but who didn’t add me. I am totally cool with this, but I was forever wondering if there is unspoken LJ code not to do this kind of thing. I am feeling much better now because everybody thinks it is fine. I am used to my friends list page now, it is my daily reading.. :)
As for not friending people back, well, obviously I have you friended, but when people friend me, I go to their journals and read some of their entries for a while and I try to feel out whether we have more than just one single interest in common
I do this too, though I usually add everybody back :). Then I had a spurt when I deleted few people from the friends list, mostly because we never spoke a word to each other, and yes - I felt guilty about it :)
