My head/heart is full of "Rome"-related thoughts. When one starts thinking about future plot developments before dozing of to sleep one must admit that this is serious. And even more so, this week I re-watched my favourite scenes from season 1 and this helped to add fuel to the fire. :D
And this is where posting a collection of pictures helps, because for me life is largely about visuals. I have collected 35 (!!) screencaps involving mostly Vorenus. But of course Pullo is there too because Vorenus and Pullo are one single unit for me.
So, for your perusal: Vorenus, Pullo, sweat, blood, daggers, long pale eyelashes and blue eyes.
Also because "Rome" still occupies my thoughts, I welcome any requests for "Rome" icon making - choose your favourite screencap, let me know if you like a particular text and I will make an icon this weekend.

He's BFFs with the hero of the story (played by the intense and charismatic Aamir Khan) and they start off the movie with a wonderful shirtless wrestling scene.

Date: 2007-01-26 05:44 pm (UTC)I love Vorenus as a character, but something about how I can't see any eyelashes on him kind of stops me from wanting to rip his toga off with my teeth (or you know, something less weird :P) Hee! But he has beautiful bone-structure, that is for sure!
I think I also love Pullo because Ray Stevenson has very similar coloring to my husband. (Although he is considerably taller than KoT!) But the dark hair and green/hazel eyes just ... yes. I love that!

I am often like this - a gorgeous man without suitable personality does not bear any appeal to me and even non-good looking guy can win me over if he has something in his character that I find irresistible (remember, I like Hound). :D

Date: 2007-01-26 06:06 pm (UTC)Yeah, I think it was when Pullo was singing to Baby Lucius that I just decided I loved him to pieces - and that made him sexier. In fact, Pullo is not at all my usual fictional "type" - I tend to prefer the leaner, finer-boned and very angsty guys (err, basically, the Lucius Vorenuses :P) On paper, I would be all over the Lucius, and much less interested in the Titus - but something about Pullo and how Ray Stevenson plays him just makes my heart go pitter-pat and I can't figure it out.
And no one ever has to justify why they find someone totally droolworthy - especially not to me, darling, because I have some VERY ODD CHOICES.
This is not to say that I don't adore Lucius, because I do - I just don't get that squirmy feeling in my tummy about him :P (That's the GOOD squirmy-tummy, not the bad one, which is caused by people like Erastes Fulmen!)
I do think that the show's heart and soul is with the Pullo/Vorenus story - if it were not for them, we would have, I think, another kind of historical "lifestyles of the rich and decadent"; with them, we have this astonishingly layered and beautiful relationship and one of the very rare depictions of a true and lasting friendship. So, I do love Lucius lots and lots because you can't have strawberries without cream :P

Date: 2007-01-26 06:18 pm (UTC)EEEEEEE! And this is why I love Pullo to bits too. I think it was a very winning combination to have two great but very different guys share the main part in the show. Very winning for female fans. :D And great for the both actors who weren't so popular before "Rome".

This is true, "Rome" just found that perfect and less often explored then romantic relationship theme of male friendship. But I like the other characters too, even little ones like Posca.
True Roman bread for true Romans
