Being stuck in the traffic for an hour and 15 minutes on a morning and being late for work doesn't make for a good start of the day. Though I was half-asleep through it and was absolutely zen about the whole experience. The winds were quite bad during the night and became even worse during the day. And now apparently everything is in chaos with lorries blocking motorways and trains being cancelled. (And I am half afraid to drive back home). No, not just yet, I wait for another hour and see if things clear up a bit.

Instead I will post some pictures of our office plants. They have a crazy floweing period recently with the orchid and the Christmas cactus spoiling us with gorgeous blooms. My friend and colleague J. brought his camera today and we made some pictures using the "Macro" feature. The pictures are behind the cut to brighten your day (the best ones are made by J. :D)

Of course you know I had to look at the pictures. I am a sucker for flower pictures. And these are beautiful! It's like Spring in your office. :)

I hope your weather and traffic clears up and you get home safely.

We have had nasty weather here as well. Lots of ice and no one here knows how to drive around on it. They go fast and then when they get to a bridge with black ice on it they suddeny realize they need to slow down. Then they slam on their breaks and that is the worst thing you can do. There was a 25 car pile up on one of our highways here the other day!

Our office is very warm (all the computers) and sunny (7th floor with huge windows) so the plants do really well. At home I never manage to get the orchids flower for the second year.

Ice on the roads is very very dangerous. It wasn't too bad here, IMHO, I think may be some higher places of M62 and M1 get affected. But of course it causes much havoc all along the motorway . England is very small with too many cars. :D

We mainly got ice on the bridges. Same thing, in high places.

England has a wonderful mass transit system though. Esecially if you live in London, you don't need a car. Which is great for visitors. :)

It feels like a spring here already. :D
I think public transport here is quite good, I used to go by train to Leeds all the time and it was very convenient. But I need to drop Sasha off at pre-school club now, so I must go by car. And traffic here is something horrendous.

Thank you! It wasn't tah bad at all. I think it is much worse on some high bits of M62 which goes across Pennines. But when there is a problem in one place it tends to affect the traffic everywhere.

I am glad you like dthe plants - our office is very warm and sunny and we "rescued" quite a few plants over the years. :D

You did rescue cats, didn't you?

most of my cats have been rescued in one way or another.....although not all. huh, i'll have to ponder that and the definition of 'rescue'.

Bart was rescued, actually - we got him from the cat rescue centre. They catch stray cats and neuter them. This I think happened to Bart's mother - they caught her, but she was already pregnant. When kittens come along, they worm them and heal ear mites and then give them away. BArt was last, actually, hanging on a cage.

Such lovely flowers! The colours are gorgeous and the light is beautiful. It gives me a feeling of spring! :)

I hope the weather improves and that the traffic chaos stops. Being stuck in traffic for over an hour and 15 minutes is never pleasant.

It wasn't too bad - I left after six and everything was cleared everywhere. The problem places are on M62 which goes across Pennines, but it affects everything everywhere.

I loooooove plants. We rescued quite a few from the other offices and brought them back to life, thanks to nice and sunny conditions in our office (7th floor).

I'm sorry you were stuck in traffic for so long. I hope everything clears up on your drive home. Beautiful flower pictures!

Did you watch HYD ep 2 yet? What did you think?

Date: 2007-01-18 10:39 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com
EEE! The thing is because I was really tired after watching HYD2 episode 2 (which was GREAT with much pondering for Tsukasa and a lovely fluffy and happy scene for Sojiro) that I nodded off half of the time. Traffic was sooooo slow. I hope tomorrow will be better. :D

I have watched "Bittersweet life" today and I thoroughly recommend it!!! (But more on it later!!)

Yes, so much pondering for Tuskasa. I've seen spoilers for episode 3 and I'm so tempted! There was reasoning for his nightmares and stuff. Hopefully , I won't give into reading it. Here's the link if you get curious: http://arashi.vox.com/library/posts/page/2/
Awww, I hope traffic would be better tomorrow too :)Can't wait for your write up on Bittersweet Life. I still need to finish downloading it..

I have decided to stay strong and unspoiled (for the first time in my life, probably? :D). The major stuff I am spoiled to anyway through "Meteor Garden", though I still hope for Rui that he will find a happy relationship even though Lei didn't.

And YESS! Traffic is much better today and sun is shining!!

I have decided to stay strong and unspoiled (for the first time in my life, probably? :D). We can be surprised together! Hopefully good surprises. I hope Rui will find a happy relationship too. He's such a good guy and deserves it :) I'm glad traffic and weather was better today! The raw for episode 3 was just posted! I'm tempted to watch raw even though I won't know what they are saying :D

EEEEEEEEE! I am tempted again! Thank you!! I am going to wait, I think. I tried to watch "The Snow Queen" raw once and did not understand a thing. Was very frustrating actually because there were very emotional scenes on screen..

I'm still downloading the torrent for HYD so I'll wait for now. I heard it's really good and next episode looks even better. AHHHHH! I'll try to wait since it would be too much torture trying to figure out whats going on. Oh yeah, I finally got the megaupload premium account! You're right it's so much faster and no wait. I'm in download heaven :)

EEEEEEE! Premium download is great!! I usually prefer torrents because I can just leave them and go and speed is excellent mostly. ( especially for US shows or new shows). Hanadan downloaded in 40 minutes last time. But some old shows - torrents seem to drag and drag. I got my Premium account in period of Sam-Soon craze.

And I take it you are still awake. :D

I think Handan finished that fast for me last time too. I was using torrent to download but I stopped half way to download sendspace upload. Unfortunately, when I joined the files it was corrupted so I'm back to square one. Yeah, I've tried to download old shows like Full House to keep and it was at 100 days? lol Yes, I'm still wide awake for 2:28am. I'm up watching Hong Kong drama "To Grow With Love" and downloading like crazy :) Have you seen jdrama 1 litre of tears?

No, I am usually not into terminal illness drama. I am afraid that they just exploit people's feelings. He-he! He is talking "The Snow Queen" addict!! But to be honest, this is the first terminal illness drama I loved. Is 1 litre of tears good??

Date: 2007-01-20 10:51 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] allbloomedout.livejournal.com
I'm not into terminal illness dramas either. I tend to cry enough already. I think Snow Queen is my favorite for terminal illness as well. I've seen many Korean terminal illness films. There's so many of those..ahh those are killers. I've seen 1 litre of tears recommended a lot. I just finish downloading it. I'm scared to watch though. Really don't want to try 1 litre of tears. ^_^

Your icon making me miss Snow Queen even more.. :(
