Happy holidays!
Dec. 24th, 2006 12:09 pmHappy holidays, dear friends!!! Whatever you celebrate, have a good time full of warm family gatherings, nice food, cookies, chocolates and love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because for me Winter holidays must have some snow, I digged out from the Internet few fabulous wintery images of the city I was born in, Omsk (Russia, Siberia).

Date: 2006-12-25 01:41 pm (UTC)The wooden church is so lovely, I never seen it in RL. This is one of the churches which appeared after I gone to live in UK.
I have heard that it seems to be unexpectedly warm this year in Scandinavian countries. There are sometimes years like this, there is mentioning in Pushkin's poems that one year the real snow fell in January in Russia. (very, very unusual. First snow usually falls at the end of October in Omsk, and the snow cover becomes permanent by the middle-end of November).

Date: 2006-12-25 01:49 pm (UTC)This is so unusual this winter, my friend called me from Finland and she also mentioned that they don't have any snow. (She lives somewhere up north too). There was a year registered in the last century when snow fell in Russia in January, but this is so rare.
SI am so glad you like the pictures - I get very nostalgic sometimes!

Date: 2006-12-25 01:53 pm (UTC)I don't really like snow so much, because it makes so difficult to drive and walk and I feel like I must stay at home even though I don't wanto to
I don't particular like BAD BAD cold we tend to get in Russia, but snow itself makes winter much brighter for me. They are quite prepared for snow there, having big snow plows cleaning the roads and so on. (You can probably notice how clean the roads are in comparison with the park)

Date: 2006-12-24 05:07 pm (UTC)While a little bit of snow during winter is okay, I'm no big fan of the cold. I much more sympathise with the Australians on my flist who earlier today were mentioning 'Christmas barbecues'. :)
Happy Holidays to you and your family! :)

Date: 2006-12-25 01:58 pm (UTC)It is a big industrial city, really, but looking at the pictures made me remember how spacey everything is.

I am not keen on bad cold neither, I don't miss it at all. But snow makes winter much brighter, and of course they are much more prepared for it in Russia, cleaning roads with snow plows and such. I don't know what the weather is like where you live, but here it is dark and raining and dark again. :D
Have lovely holidays!!!!

Date: 2006-12-25 07:15 pm (UTC)I miss snow, too. It's very troublesome for transportation and etc, but it's soo beautiful to look at, especially on tree branches.
I hope you have wonderful holidays!
