The truth is I am really getting into the "World Cup" mood. Like I am so much looking forward to watching it on TV and shouting all such things. And eating a lot of chocolate ice-cream and pop-corn. It is going to be a great fun!

Icons of my favourite football boys (in no particular order. Zinedine Zidane is probably THE favourite of mine.). The idea of making these icons is coming from the conversation with lovely lage_nom_ai. She is THE MUSE!!!

Hee! I must make "German flag" icon. I could not find Jamaica.. Do you know if they are in this year?

I keep wondering about this icon - is this a particular horse you like (if it is all right to ask) ? Looks beautiful!!!!!!!

Aw man, looks like Trinidad beat out the Reggae Boyz this time around. Boooo!

I "made" this icon myself from a fantastic photograph I saw online. It won the Eclipse Award (the awards given in the horse racing industry) for Best Photograph in 2004. You can see a larger version (and other cool ones) here:

And yes--the photograph is AMAZING. I saw it in the national horse racing museum and was crushed that you couldn't buy a print of it... I've even considered tracking down the photographer and asking her if she's selling any!

I made an icon with German flag, but then I consulted the WISE queenofthornes and she confirmed my strange feeling that German people don't really like waving their national flags, etc. SORRY! I will think of something..

I love horses. They are powerful and beautiful and intelligent. I went on the crash-course for riding horses once. It was a bumpy affair, but I loved it. (During my first EVER time on a horse the horse took off. I let go of his reigns, the horse galloped along the road with traffic, I held to the saddle for my dear life.) I wish I had a chance to learn riding. It is like with flying. I would like to learn how to pilot an aircraft. And probably parachuting. Sorry for digression.

As for riding--I've been riding since I was 6 years old. I only get to do it when I visit my parents on vacations these days, but it will always be a part of my life. That's possibly the best thing about the new job--it's out in a rural area so I'm hoping to find a horse farm! :)

In short: I hope you find the time to do some more riding. It's wonderful!

The horse is Arko III, awesomely (and due to rider mistake) jumping the standard rather than the actual jump at Athens. It's a STUNNING picture full-size.
