My top 7 fictional boyfriends

Top 7 fictional boyfriends!!! In pictures!!!

I was targeted by sweet [livejournal.com profile] nutmeg3. (But I must say I did enjoy putting all this together greatly). No particular order! I have a BIG heart and it was difficult enough to restrict myself to 7, so I have gone over-board with this including 8. And some of the runner-ups are very worthy too, like Lee Adama, latest Bond or Mr. Darcy!!

Some of the pictures are big!!!! They break my layout, but I am not so worried because it is for the good cause.

1. Mulder, X-files. Puppy eyes, dorky genius. Wears tailored suits and has a dead-pan sense of humor. Partner to fabulous Dana Scully.

2. Neo, Matrix. Geeky programmer turned cool martial arts artist and the Saviour of the world. Black leather, guns, shades and obscure conversations.

3. Lucius Vorenus, Rome. Centurion with principles and blue eyes. Best friend of inimitable Titus Pullo. Intense. Wears togas and sandals.

4. Sandor Clegane, A Song of Ice and fire. Angry, cruel and disfigured in infancy, but with a hope for redemption. Honest and brutal. Favourite horse - Stranger.

5. Mr. Thornton, North and South. *** swoon ***

6.Kang Bok-ku, A love to kill. Wears the weight of the world on his shoulders. Tortured and full of angst.

7. Erast Fandorin, Erast Fandorin mysteries by Boris Akunin (Link). Russian detective. Genius but unlicky in love. As cool as ice. Dry sense of humour.

Erast Fandorin as portrayed by Oleg Menshikov:

8. Detective Nick Cavanaugh, The Nine. Green eyes.

Oh, lovely list! I love how you often give us more than one pic. Hee! I must work on my list, too. So many gorgeous fictional boyfriends, so little space. Heh.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I am glad you like it!!

So many gorgeous fictional boyfriends, so little space

So true!! Preston is also a close runner-up!!! (Sorry, Preston).

I was trying to find more of high-quality pictures of Mr.Thornton, but I could not. :(

[identity profile] endlessdeep.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
How come I didn't know you were an X-Files/David Duchovny fan? I was obsessed with the show for quite a while. :)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
EEE! I am so glad this is something else we share an interest in. I was also completely obsessed during first 5 seasons (and I started watching it in Russia). The latest seasons are much weaker, but I loved X-files so much that I finished watching all of them. I even own all nine seasons :D.

And Mulder/Scully is my favourite OTP of all times. And also I love the atmosphere and cinematography. And the fact that "Truth is out there"

[identity profile] endlessdeep.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
And Mulder/Scully is my favourite OTP of all times. And also I love the atmosphere and cinematography. And the fact that "Truth is out there"

Ditto on all that! Mulder and Scully were always my favorite ship. :)

I watched up until about the middle of season 7 or 9. I tried to convince myself that Mulder leaving was no big deal, but it really was a big deal. I don't have all the seasons. I have a few of them but they are on VHS tape, somewhere around here. I have lots of memorabilia...the Barbie Dolls, cards, books, magazines. I have some drawings that online friends did and sent to me. Everything is packed away in a plastic container in the closet in my office.

The X-Files is the TV show that made me want to get online and find other people who liked the show. My very first online chat group was on AOL. And I was also a meber of an AOL listcalled "The X-Girls and DD". And I still have a Yahoo Group called "The X-Girls". There are only about ten of us on there now but we've known each other since about the first or second season of the X-Files.

Fun! :)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I have all seasons on tape (I bought them very cheaply when the tapes started to be outdated), and the first 3 seasons on DVD. I wnat to but all seasons on DvD, though. They are not that expensive now.

I saw first episodes in Russia AGES ago and I remember thinking how much I love this.

The X-Files is the TV show that made me want to get online and find other people who liked the show.

In a way X-files was the way on-line for me too. I was re-watching all the seasons 2 years ago and you know, I got again that craving for more Mulder/Scully. So I thouht - I will check up the Internet for transcripts and such. I didn't know that fanfiction existed back then. ** laughs **

When I was looking for transcripts, I stumbled upon fanfiction. I must say - it was a shock!! It seemed to be such a strange concept that someone would be writing stories about something what didn't happen. But slowly , I started to like it. It was like THE MISSING PIECE!

So when "Battlestar Galactica" came along, I was ready and went to look for fanfiction again. This is how I found [livejournal.com profile] beyond_insane and [livejournal.com profile] captainapollo. I realised that these were "journals" and that one can comment in them. Because I wanted to comment on fanfiction and Qot's Leecaps I got myself an account. It is funny how much more LJ became for me!!

What's OTP?

Also, love that you love Vorenus. I watched Dog Soldiers this weekend and he's wonderful in it. It's a cheezy, cliched werewolf movie but... mmm, Kevin McKidd. Fighting. Being hot.

Excuse me, I've been obsessing over him recently.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
OTP stands for "one true pairing", a pair of characters who suit each other/got the chemistry together. It is normally used for normal pairing, but can be also used for friendship (or anything, really).

I am so glad you are the fan of Vorenus too. I can't wait until the next season of Rome begins. Especially I am looking forward to Vorenus being very tortured and full of angst because of what has happened in season 1 finale.

I haven't seen "Dog Soldiers", but I will sure do now. :D . May be I will even re-watch "Trainspotting".:D

Great list!! Now that I see this, you make me wonder who I would put in my list... hmmm... have to give it more than one thought because the list is only seven! argg... ;)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I am glad you liked (I am particular proud of HUGE picture of Mr. Thornton)

have to give it more than one thought because the list is only seven! argg

Exactly! It was very tough!! But may be Mr. Thornton will find a place in your list too? ** wink **

[identity profile] teh-haley.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
awww, Mulder. Those puppy eyes are definitely illegal =)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
You made me so happy! Younger fans like Mulder too! YaY!

[identity profile] teh-haley.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 01:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I found out X-Files when I was 13, I think, and then I told my mom "I wanna marry Fox Mulder" and she said "I'm proud of you, DNA doesn't lie". lol

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
This is so funny! You are my kindred spirit!

[identity profile] sunbrae.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Love this. Neo (Keanu) and Mulder would be on my list, too.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I love that you love it! Mulder was my first "big" thing, and I love hi wholeheartedly because he is the fighter for the TRUTH, and also he is very very loyal and caring.

[identity profile] baleanoptera.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Eeee! This is such a great list! And you've included Sandor! I have such a soft spot for him and Sansa. Especially the scene where he forces her to sing for him, and then leaves her his cloak. ( the giving of a cloak is after all one of the marriage symbols in Westeros - and I find that symbolism fascinating).

And Mr. Thornton! And Vorenus! Such lovely pictures. ;)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
the giving of a cloak is after all one of the marriage symbols in Westeros - and I find that symbolism fascinating

How I love you! I never put two and two together. I felt that the cloak giving was a significant gesture, but I just didn't think of this. You are awesome! And she kept it !!!

And Mr. Thornton! And Vorenus! Such lovely pictures.

** cough cough ** May be you feel inclined to make your own list? You don't have to post pictures!!! ** cough again **.

I had at least two more runner-ups in ASOIF alone (Jaime and Jon). I like Rhaegar too.

[identity profile] baleanoptera.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I felt that the cloak giving was a significant gesture, but I just didn't think of this.

*g* Well in all fairness it took me a few re-reads to see the symbolism. But I would say it's definitely there - especially since it's later pointed out in the marriage ceremony to Tyrion that the giving of a cloak is very significant. And I'm filled with shippy happiness that she kept the cloak. She even folded it nicely and put it at the bottom of her chest so that it would be safe.

May be you feel inclined to make your own list?

Hmm..I just might - let me ponder it. And if I do there will most definitely be pictures. ;D

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
And I'm filled with shippy happiness that she kept the cloak. She even folded it nicely and put it at the bottom of her chest so that it would be safe.

You won't believe how happy you made me with the cloak thing. I was dosing off to sleep yesterday and developing some future Sansa/Sandor scenarios. Though knowing Martin it is more likely to be something "he is going to die for her". Because he said so himself "Hound will die for you..".

** sigh* *

[identity profile] baleanoptera.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Because he said so himself "Hound will die for you..".

*sob* Not another one that will die? because I'm already in denial over that fact that Jaime will probably die. And loads of others...

But you are probably right - but if he dies I hope there is some resolve around his and Sansa's story. Then at least we will have that!

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I am of school of thought that Jaime will not die, I think he payed his "dues" when he lost his hand. But loads of others, yes! ** sigh **

And Sandor is bound to die IMHO; and in this I believe mostly because of that prophetic conversation he had with Sansa. Also I believe he is going to be the one to kill un-dead Mountain (and a combat with Mountain can never end well, as Oberyn Martell proved).

[identity profile] baleanoptera.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm..this is true. But - there is the strange conversation regarding Sandor in Feast, where the brother on the isle says that "The Hound is dead." and "Sandor Clegane is at rest".

So maybe the Hound dying is a metaphorical death? In other words - he puts away/kills the Hound persona? (maybe because he wants to be a better person - inspired by Sansa?) Okay - I might be grasping for straws here. ;D

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
I know!! I appreciate that you making me quite hopeful too. I I also think that the old Hound died. And I am totally creating fanfiction here - I hope Sandor will save Brienne miraculously out of the situation she is in. The fact that they met was there for a purpose, nobody else knows where she has gone (And well, they can go ahead together rescuing Sansa).

But when I am serious I do really see how Martin singled Sandor out from the very beginning to kill Mountain. For Sandor it would be an ultimate aim. And also if not Sandor, then who? Remember what had happened during the "King's Hand" tournament? And don't think anyone will survive after their fight.

[identity profile] allbloomedout.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
great list! I love neo and bok-bu the most:)I hope you don't mind but i saved the last altk picture :) thanks and I would love to see your favorite kdrama characters list.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I am so glad you enjoyed this! (I certainly enjoyed collecting all the lovely pictures). Anything in my LJ is free to share (apart of personal photos).

I would love to see your favorite kdrama characters list.

EEEEEE! This is a great idea!

[identity profile] allbloomedout.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
I enjoy collecting pictures too. Have you seen those recent pictures oh Ji-Hoon and Eun Hye ( http://community.livejournal.com/goong/176455.html )? They look so cute together! I wonder if Ji-Hoon growing out his hair for a role. I personally like it shorter like in Goong.

I hope you'll make a list when you have time. :D

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you very much for the link! I saw the pictures in one of the comms, but I am not sure about the hair. :D he must be growing them for a purpose, or why otherwise?

[identity profile] allbloomedout.livejournal.com 2006-12-25 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
I sure hope its for upcoming drama! :crossing my fingers: :D

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-25 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Me too!! :D

[identity profile] nutmeg3.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
What a yummy list. I found myself perving over your pictures for quite some time. And...how could I have forgotten Mulder? I adore him. That dry sense of humor is to die for. And I almost put Lucius on my list, and also Nick, but there simply weren't enough spots. I think I needed 15 or 20 at least - and that's only for TV/movie boyfriends. I'd need another couple dozen for my book boyfriends.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-20 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
The fact that you and [profile] realtanalaI think I needed 15 or 20 at least - and that's only for TV/movie boyfriends. I'd need another couple dozen for my book boyfriends.

It was difficult task to make a choice. :D

[identity profile] miss-dian.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooh Mulder. Sexy :D

And Mr. Darcy? Sorry [livejournal.com profile] alexandral. He's mine. We've been together eversince I discovered him a year ago. LOL.

Trivia: I have the BBC serial in VCDs, the Pride & Prejudice book, and the recent movie in DVD. I love both Darcy's *grins* Yes, I think I love Darcy.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
He's mine. We've been together eversince I discovered him a year ago. LOL.

Mr. Darcy is wonderful!! Have you seen "North and South", BBC adaptation of Gaskell's novel? If not, you MUST!! Mr Thornton **swoons ** It is honestly the best thing which has happened to the world since "Pride and Prejudice".

No I haven't! Aaaaaaaaa thank you for the links! I'll have to check them out as soon as I have time ;)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
EEEEEEE! Honestly, "North and South" is one of rare series (there are 4 episodes) that I can rec to anyone, so good it is!

[identity profile] miss-dian.livejournal.com 2006-12-29 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
I found North and South - but why is it the American version? The summary on the back of the DVD cover was nothing like the ones I read on the links you gave me.

*confused*

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-12-29 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, no!! This is not the one. It is the old American series about the war of independence, I think!

You need the one with Richard Armitage, amazon link is here :
