I have seen "Casino Royale" on Tuesday, and though I never thought I would say this about Bond – it is an awesome film. My two friends and I were glued to the screen for two hours, uttering various exclamations of delight from time to time. My friends didn’t believe me when I told them I know the ending. :D It was easy to guess, though. But who cares for predictability! Oh my poor heart! I want to see "Casino Royale" again!!!

+ Because Daniel Craig has the best EVER eyes and eyelashes. Piercing icicle-blue eyes and pale eyelashes which are too long for a man - nothing can be compared to it. Truly. And voice. His is the type of voice I can listen to for hours and never get tired.

+ Leaving objectification aside, he is an incredible actor. I have a silly feeling of national pride. :D. Yes, Britain has wonderful actors by the bucket!!!

+ The scene where Bond comforts Vesper Lynd in the shower made me cry. It is my favourite scene!!!

+ I loved the fractal-like titles. I know some people are attacted to the old “Bond” way of titles, but I was mesmerised. The title song was also more interesting then the usual “Bond song” for me.

+ I don’t think I have any particular deep thoughts, “Casino Royale” is just such a delight form start to finish. If anyone haven’t seen it yet – go and see it !!! You will not regret!!!

Last couple of days I have been obsessively looking for everything connected to Daniel Craig. And I found some fantastic news – he is playing Lord Asriel in the new film adaptation of "Dark Materials"!!!!. !!!

Weeee! I'm so glad you liked it! I've read some negative comments lately, and I'm such a dork that they really depressed me. (It's just a movie, Sonia!)

The pictures are so drool-worthy -- I particularly like the penultimate one.

I really, really, really want to see it again!

One of our geeky guys from work said that there were "not enough gadgets". Phew!! Who cares for gadgets! This film makes me feel for the characters! Though I have heard only excellent reviews from critics, and the ratings on IMDB are high (8.2)

Me too!!! I made an icon from this image, but I had a dilemma - either you see Bond's face or neck line with the shirt unbuttoned. But if you just see the neck line, it can belong to anyone. And that white shirt!!!!

I really, really, really want to see it again!

Agree! Such a pity we can't go together! I will definitely go this weekend. I will never be able to think about Bond in the same way I did before.

Oh wouldn't that be lovely?!

I love that last pic, especially. It feeds into all my hurt-comfort fantasies. And I, too, loved the opening credits and the song - much more than the traditional, in fact. Clearly we are women of good taste. *g*

I always thought of Jaime Lannister as Sean Bean, but I must say - wounded Daniel Craig could make a very good one too! I just want to hug him on this picture :D And at the end, when he is sitting in the boat too.

This makes me VERY happy!

You know, that's a great idea. I'm not a huge fan of young, pretty Bean, but I could really see Daniel Craig in the role. ::thinks you're brilliant::

EEEEEE! I am so so happy you like the idea!! :D I just tried to imagine Daniel Craig with the sword (and in my favourite "bath scene"). It was a good, good thing to imagine. If I am lucky I will be able to have a dream about it. :D

Bond was so very excellent. I was astonished by how much I liked it, though I think that if I were a straight man I might not have enjoyed it quite so much. Though after years of some very annoying Bond girls I felt that it was only right and proper that they decided to objectify Bond in a big way. (And I thought it was interesting that they decided to objectify him instead of the gadgets this time).

My husband (whom we'll assume is straight -- ha!) LOVED the movie. I think Eva Green's haunting beauty (& great boobs) made up for any perceived objectification of Bond.

I think that they were kind enough to have something for everyone... :) Very generous of the director!

Heh. True. My (hopefully) straight husband enjoyed the movie as well.

[livejournal.com profile] alexandral, thanks for the pics! I am in love with the movie and I never thought I'd say this about a Bond movie, ever (I cordially dislike them, as a rule).

Eeeee! So angsty and interesting and good.

Oh, I am glad to hear this! I hope to drag my dearest to see "Casino Royale" this weekend.

and I never thought I'd say this about a Bond movie, ever (I cordially dislike them, as a rule).

These were exactly my feelings too. I suffered through the previous Bond for the sake of Toby Stephens in "shuba" and tux, but I remember thinking "How do they make money out the movie like this?". I can't wait for another installment now, though. :D

only right and proper that they decided to objectify Bond in a big way

And oh boy, I did enjoy this! Nothing, even the famous trousers of Wolverine is as good. Though I thought that the Bond girl was lovely too, very sophisticated.

And I thought it was interesting that they decided to objectify him instead of the gadgets this time

I didn't miss the lack of gadgets, but I did appreciate te poker. Hot men playing poker - this is one of the things on my list of "things that make hot men look even hotter".

I am hoping to drag my dearest to see it again this weekend. :D

I liked the poker, but it madly confused me, being so unlike any poker I had ever played that I had no idea if Bond or evil villian was likely to win at any point. But it was funny how they managed to make a bunch of people sitting around a table not doing very much seem vitally interesting.

I really liked the Bond girl and was sad to see her die. She was really smashing and competant in a way that I can imagine someone who doesn't do this for a living being without being professional and cold about the whole thing.

I am planning on dragging someone else to see it by simply pointing out how little Bond wears in some of the scenes. Maybe I should point them to pictures? (Though I think Daniel Craig doesn't actually look as interesting in photos as he does on screen; he's not really terribly good looking in pictures but has amazing charisma on screen that makes me ignore much of that.)

I never played poker, but used to play bridge when I was young. We had a bridge club, playing till the early hours of the morning. I enjoyed math.psychological part of it immensely.

For me it is connected to his voice somehow. In Russian we have an expression "girls love through their ears. (Ok, this sounds a little weird in the literal translation, but you know what I mean :D) I am one of these girls. :D

He was in "Elizabeth" - he played a Jesuit priest and I remember thinking how hot he was back then too :P

Also, and this is unrelated to your Daniel Craig love, but you HAVE to get this week's episode of "The Nine." Yes!!

And lastly, thanks for your e-mail, darling - it was very sweet of you to think of me.

I know! I was rooting for the both sides in Elizabeth. Very confusing thing to do. :D I also remember feeling that Jesuit priest surely can't be so attractive.

:: love :: I did have a feeling that with this "big love" I am missing something important. I started watching "Heroes" and they grow on me, but slowly. Thank you!! ** off to download **

OMG he's not really my type of guy but I can't deny that he looks irresistable in Bond! I like his clean-cut better ^o^ Ooooh can't wait to see Casino Royale! I mean I adore Judi Dench, and was planning to go see it for her ;) Notwithstanding the cast for CR, I've always liked Bond movies anyways, and so does my bf ;) So I'm definitely dragging him to the movies this weekend, LOL.

I think I am hopeless for scruffy-looking men. See Rain in ALTK :D I liked D.Craig very much in the recent BBC adaptation "Archangel" (thriller about Stalinism, so I was bound to like it :D)

I hope you like "CAsino Royale", and I am interested to know what you and your bf think, because the creators did change a lot of original "Bond" concept. And Judi Dench - she is beyond awesome!!

Yup. He's SO my type! And so is Kang Dong-won, if you haven't noticed, LOL.

PS. Am watching Casino Royale tonight with a friend 'cause my bf couldn't go during the weekend - and now he's gone to Bali for work :(

Those eyes are incredible

I keep thinking - "Are they real?". :D
