Is my child an angel and I didn't know about it? Plus various fannish things

+ We went to Sasha’s school for the annual parents-meet-the-teacher meeting. As according to the teacher, Sasha is exceptionally good at everything. The teacher kept going on about Sasha’s essays. He-he! One essay starts with “Once on the glorious Sunday morning”. The most confusing thing is that according to the teacher Sasha is unbelievably polite and “always has a smile on her face.” HE_HE!!! I had to ask the teacher if she was talking about my child or if there is a mistake. :) I am not sure still!!!

+ I have watched the first episode of season 3 "Deadwood". What was I doing in my life without this show?? I am in absolute love with every single line! The way the characters speak! O my poor heart! Every line is so thought-through, so marvellous. I am very confused to what is happening, though. VERY COMPLICATED. I haven’t seen season 1 and watched a few episodes in season 2 without success. But I am in love now, so I plan to buy season 1 DVDs and start watching it properly.

+ My first ”Deadwood” love is Al Swearengen. Why? Just look at this picture:

+ I have finished "Full House". Lovely lovely lovely. Some more on the Full House plus pictures I posted in [livejournal.com profile] dorama_chat

+ I have started watching "Goong". It is very bright and colourful. Main hero is as cool as ice and of course he is THE PRINCE of Korea! Main heroine is adorkable. The best thing about this drama is fabulousness of costumes. I can’t stop drooling at the sight of the heroine’s dresses. Absolutely unbelievable gorgeous. I keep forgetting to follow the storyline. There are many vivid colours, wonderful settings and interesting Korean music.

First screencap from Goong. UST!!!!!!!!

+ [livejournal.com profile] baleanoptera posted about the new swords-and-sandals film "300" with Gerard Butler here. I can’t contain my happiness about this!! The film is made from Frank Miller's graphical novel and Mr. Butler plays Spartan King Leonidas.

+ If anyone wants a TARDIS for their garden, the link is here. He-he!!!

so it seems you're really lucky having such a sweet child :) I hope one day I'll be so lucky, too!

He!! I am not really sure still !! Sasha, her friend Eleanor and I went to the cinema/McDonalds/shopping spree on Saturday and I tell you - they were not THAT good!!! We watched "Hoodwinked". It was hilarious, but it's humour seemed to be a little too complicated for the little ones. They enjoyed it, anyway.

The only negative thing that the teacher said was that they had to separate Elenor and Sasha. Talking during the lessons too much! He-he! I had a friend like this at school!

[identity profile] teh-haley.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehe, I remember that when I was at school I used to talk a lot with my best friend and the teacher everyday separated us, but we were so funny together that she always changed her mind ;) and when she told my mother, mom always said "what?? she's SO good at home..." and now she know the teacher was right, I'm a bit naughty ;)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
and now she know the teacher was right, I'm a bit naughty ;)

EEEEEEE! Are YOU? I haven't noticed. :) But the story about about you and your best friend is so cute. I hope you still have a contact with your friend. I haven't seen mine in ages :( I had to go to school in the different city so we lost the contact.

[identity profile] teh-haley.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 09:23 am (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately, her mom didn't like our being friends so much, and this didn't depend on the fact that we were a bit too lively together, it depends on something that could sound like Middle Age: my family didn't belong to what she called "high society" (but her one didn't, too, even she thought it did) and she made her change school! isn't this ridicolous? then we lost our friendship, even because my friend changed her ways, too!

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-10-15 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, this sounds so sad! It must have been so difficult for you!! I always think that I will never do thing like this to Sasha and will accept her choice of friends!

[identity profile] winterspel.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm so happy for you and for Sasha that her teacher was so pleased with her. :)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my! I know she is not a bad child, but "lovely and very polite" sounds too good! What if they were talking about someone else?

Here only problem seemed to be that she used to talk too much with her friend Eleanor. The teacher had to separate them. Hee! My best friends and I had to be separated too!

[identity profile] kiaforrest.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I must have that TARDIS ::grin::

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
EEEEEEE! We were seriously discussing at the office how we can buy it using our tea-fund. We could have put it in the tea-making area. That could have been fun!!!

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
DEADWOOD! I don't have HBO, so I've only seen season 1, but I love it. Al is fun. I'm waiting for season 2 dvds to get into my price range.

More people to be talking abouy Goong and Full House, making me want to watch them evrn more...

300 should be great.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't wait until my season 1 DVDs arrive. It seems the most awesome thing since "The Wire" - the other fantastic HBO production.

Have you seen FH or "Goong" before? The guy in "Goong" really reminds me of Zhi Shu from ISWAK. Just the same coolness /self containment about him. And "Full House" - it has RAIN!!!!!!!!!!

300 should be great Posters look like it is going to be similar to "Sin City" in the visual sense! Fantastic!

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, Goong/ISWAK always sounded like they had similar vibes. But no, I haven't seen any of Goong or FH.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Goong has also a great feel of period movie, with the costumes and all :). No swards yet but plenty of the horse riding :)

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
SWORDS!!!

(yeah yeah yeah, you said "no swords" but the word "swords" was still used)

My coworker's sister has a lot of Korean shows on her hard drive(they're half Korean)that they're going to burn to DVD for me. Full House is one of them(thier mutual favorite) but I think they were going to look for Goong, too.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
EEEEEE! There is a lot of fencing in "Goong" too :)

Full House is one of them(thier mutual favorite)

Rain!!!! ** Sigh **

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
ooo...fencing...fencing will keep me happy enough...

*will be watching the Duelist to get some swords in her diet before starting Kurosagi*

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-10-12 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
I just saw the pictures of "The Duelist" in you LJ - looks beautiful!

[identity profile] endlessdeep.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I am so looking forward to "300". I am very interested in the cinematography and I really really hope the story and acting is good.

The pictures from the other movies you mentioned up there are so gorgeous and bright.

I have never watched "Deadwood". Everyone talks about how wonderful it is. I really should watch it, but I just have to many other things going on TV wise right now.

Someday. :)

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
The posters for 300 are gorgeous and in the visual sense look similar to "Sine City". The link for the posters" (http://movies.about.com/od/300/ig/300movieposters/index.htm) "Sin City" was also made from Frank Miller's graphical novels. I loved it - it was incredibly original and stunning visually.

The Korean drama, "Goong" is wonderfully vivid in colour. And period costumes are fantastic! (The story revolves around Korean Imperial Household) . I have not seen such beautiful colours in a while!!

I have never watched "Deadwood". Everyone talks about how wonderful it is.

I did a mistake last year and started watching "Deadwood" from season 2. I couldn't understand much and quickly cooled down. Now I can't wait for my season 1 DVDs of "Deadwood" to arrive!!!

[identity profile] baleanoptera.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
You haven't seen all of Deadwood season 1 & 2? *grin* In a way I'm a little envious, because you have so much to look forward to. And Al is great. It's a toss up between him and Alma over who is my favourite. Al I loved straight away, but to watch Alma's story from S1 and through S3 was amazing.

And your daughter sounds so sweet! I especially liked the beginning of her essay. :)

I can't wait for the season 1 DVDs so I can watch and understand EVERYTHING. Alma is very beautiful and mysterious, I like her very much too. But I often seem to go by the way of fictional attraction so I tend to chose male characters as favourites. (Unless the female character is Brienne, of course) .

And your daughter sounds so sweet! I especially liked the beginning of her essay. :)

Thank you so much! She can be naughty, but she tends to get away with it because she can do cute in her sleep. :)

Who doesn't want a Tardis for thier garden?

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2006-10-11 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
We were giggling like silly at work thinking if we can get one on our tea-fund money :)
