alexandral: (Takyua - Never give up)

+ EEEEEEEE! Doramas (dramas from Asia) are my absolute love of the moment! This weekend I am spending all my spare time free of cooking and cleaning and other duties gulping doramas in enormous amounts. They are more addictive then anything I have ever encountered before! Because:

- Connected Storylines - 11 or 21 episodes connected together in one story! I love it!

- enormous amounts of OTP and love stories!

- feel good factor!

+ I have consumed "Good Luck" - Japanese jdorama about commercial jet pilots in two days and my only regret is that it is already finished! OK - another regret is that I can't go and become a pilot tomorrow because of my advancing years. BUT - Oh Takya Kimura's character Shinkai - so adorably dorky but sensitive and lovely. Oh my personal favourite strict and tortured Captain Kouda! I love an alfa male who is at the same time very tortured and commanding - this is my personal "thing" and I can't say "thank you" enough to a person who allowed me to watch this excellent drama.

+ I am also on the episode 9 of "Mars" (Motorbikes + Mystery) which is fabulous indeed. It has all my favourite elements - tortured main character, attraction of opposites, haunting past. (I hope this s not a spoiler - one can gather that much from the titles. I apologize if it is and will hide it away :) Plus to all this "Mars" keeps me on my "toes" because of the large element of mystery in it. I am trying my best not to watch the ending first which is quite easy because 22 episodes of "Mars" are downloading very very slowly.

I had a scare in the middle of "Mars" - the hard subtitled episodes finished and it took me 10 minutes to figure out where to get the soft subtitles from. Very worrying 10 minutes.

It is very late but episode 10 of "Mars" is about to finish downloading. Very tempting :)

PS: The icon is totally shareable.

I love the fact that doramas have a finite storyline - saves watching years of a programme only to end up wailing in despair (X-Files, I'm looking at you). And they really know how to cater to those of us who like angst and romance in one nice package (also I approve of the fact that if I really want to I can find out the ending in advance so I am not traumatized by the ending).

And Mars is great. It still remains my favourite dorama, what with the angst and the pretty men and the stalkers...

And icon love!

Yes - X-files broke my heart! It just never came to any conclusion! It is still one of my ever favourite series, though. I own the whole lot on DVDs which is a little unusual for me - I normally lose interest after 2 or 3 seasons.

I adore "Mars" at the moment - I hope it has a good ending. I am very apprehensive. :)

X-files broke my heart! It just never came to any conclusion!

All those years of faithful watching and the people who said Chris Carter didn't really have a plan on how to end it were right! It's one of my favourites too, though I don't actually own any of it. (Shock! Horror!) Maybe I should buy some...

Yep! I never was a fan of the "Mulder sister storyline", but man - it had no ending! And the thing I am upset the most that after all these years they robbed us from the Mulder and Scully's first night together. This is the cruelest thing which should be never repeated!

I have voted for the Shinkai's scarf. And the first question was not fair - he is adorable ALWAYS! The hair cut is abhorring , though. What? They were wearing haircuts like that in 2003 in Japan? I much prefer the "Long vacation"'s version of hair style. :P

That is HILARIOUS because Kimura's hair in Good Luck! is my favourite because I like guys with short hair ;) I know I'm in the minority because most people like long hair on guys!!! :)

I don't really like long hair in men - I like them army-like short in a way of Captain Kouda :). Ye, I know - I am boring. In doramas there seems to be a lot of long-hairdness and I must admit that Takyua looks good with long hair. But in "Good Luck" - I could not stop giggling when he had his hat on and the side bits of hair were sticking out in a very adorable way. Anyway, I think the whole hair do works really well for the character - he could not have been a bohemian-pianist-looking like, could he?

Oh my gosh, I am so glad you are liking Mars. It's by far my favorite dorama and I was rather apprehensive you won't like.

But yes, so good. And the second half is actually better than the first!

"Mars" is probably my favourite dorama up to now as well. I think for me it is because of the fact that it has more of the "dark" side and tortures and really interesting story. Funnily I liked the female character in "Mars" first and it took me some time to get warmed up to Ling. MAy be because his hair need a hairdresser. :)

Heeeee, if you think this is bad hair, don't watch things like 'Devil Beside You' :P

I have no idea about how Ling or Qi Luo first come across as I watched Mars because I loved and read the entire manga it was based on, so I already knew the entire story :)

I think I am getting used to it because Ling is really pretty , but at the start I was all going - "O no! Poor dear - her can't see a thing because of his hair".

Nothing is as bad a Takyua Kimura in "Good Luck" for me (see the icon) :)

Dorama hair can be...interesting.

I find Vic Zhou much prettier with normal hair. Here he is in Silence, with much better hairdo:

I just realized that I misspelled "his" as "her" in my last comment. ** Hair tearing **.

BUT - O yes! This does look good! I must watch it! He looks suitably tortured as well - O HOW I LIKE IT! (Thank you so much for the picture)

O man - these doramas are more addictive then anything! Should come with the warning - "Once you watched one, you would be watching them all! BAd for your sleeping habits!".
