Memoirs of a Geisha I didn’t intend to watch this film and only went to see it on Saturday because all the tickets for “Brokeback mountain” were sold out. And what a total waste of my 6 pounds it was! And what a waste of beautiful scenery, beautiful costumes, beautiful actors! This film failed to make me feel anything for any of the characters .. HMMMM!

Brokeback mountain I have watched this film on Sunday and though this film is definitely extraordinary, I could not get beyond moral ambiguity and compromise and “embrace Brokeback mountain love”.

What I thought was morally wrong with the story:

I really felt how wrong it was for the two protagonists to enter into marriage with two ladies and then start seeing each other again and lying to their wives. This is one of my biggest “things I don’t like in the movies” – when we are given the “great love” story in which lovers cheat on somebody else in between. This spoils their love story for me entirely. The GREAT LOVE for me is a great love between Aragorn and Arwen when Aragorn doesn’t accept a lovely Eowyn’s love, even if he likes her very much and is sure at the moment that he is not going to see Arwen ever again. The great love is the one which conquers all things, the one that “bears under anything and everything that comes”.. I just hate when third parties and children are hurt. I apologise for the RANT!

Things I loved about the film:

Scenery was beautiful,REALLY beautiful.

Rather then “a story of the love as strong as hurricane” this story for me was a story of how much living a lie can cost a person. Unfulfilled life. Empty life. And the ending was absolutely heartbreaking..
