The full reveal of Baelish's past with Cat I think (I am sure) happens much later in the story. At the point of the episode 7 we are supposed to wonder where Littlefinger's allegiances are, I think. But I am not really that much against the early reveal (I had to give up trying to compare everything to the book some weeks ago), but I am against the reveal because it does not make much sense for Baelish to reveal his secrets to some stranger from the North.
