Yes, I am getting too old for this. I think you were right in suspecting a not-intended-initially change in story direction, it really felt a bit fishy. I wasn't too bothered at that point of time already, or I would have kicked up a storm.
Did Jason/Pil Suk get a good ending? I got bored with them too, but I still want to know. :D
