Apr. 3rd, 2006 05:01 pmI like Mondays.
I work Wednesday to Friday and Wednesday is the worst day because it is always so BUSY and there are so many things awaiting to be done .. But Monday – I have a whole day for myself and today I have already done so many things (taking my friend to the airport, shopping and getting tulips for the front garden) that this whole day fills me with joy. I keep looking at my tulips through the front window and all is great!!! I wish everybody a nice day!!!!
I finished "The Wire" season 2 this weekend. :
- Omar is fantastic and brother Mousone is too. I think that after this season they are my two favourite characters. Sorry, Stringer! Because – they are Yojimbo and Lone Gunman!!! YAY! I am a very flaily person myself and I find somebody who just doesn’t loose his cool absolutely mesmerizing.
- I adore, adore this show. It has these moments when somebody so cruel and even monstrous as Vondas can be shown as human too (because he has this fondness for Nick, for example) !!.
- Poor Stringer, it all is turning a little sour for him. And Avon will find out what happened to D’Angelo one day.
- Sobotka’s story is totally sad but so absolutely real. But: Were some people opening the re-building of the Grain Pier at the end of the last episode or was it just me?
I also was watching "Bleak House" and it is a true masterpiece. The only thing which upsets me in it is that I would like Esther to love John Jarndyce and she loves the Doctor. Hmm.
I am screen-capping and hope to make some icons. Though I never know how icon-making is going to go ..
And I am thinking about Dr.Who and Rose so much and I am not thinking about Kara/Lee as much anymore ;)…

Date: 2006-04-03 04:42 pm (UTC)There's going to be new Dr. Who soon, yes? Mid-April I think.
I'm saving Bleak House for my Easter vacation. Good luck with the capping/iconing!

Date: 2006-04-03 05:07 pm (UTC)There's going to be new Dr. Who soon, yes? Mid-April I think. 15 of Aril, it seems. I just can't wait. I saw the advert, David Tennant is cute and has a decent haircut;). The only thing - Rose seems to be much, much slimmer. Why do they make actresses to loose weight? This is just so WRONG IMHO. She is gorgeous..

Date: 2006-04-03 05:15 pm (UTC)I just can't wait to see more interaction between them two. That moment when Mousone is laying on a floor and talking to Omar is just WOW!. And relationship between Omar and his blind uncle(?) is fantastic. Plus little doggy! And Omar is saving some money ;)
I just found season 3 torrent and very much tempted. ;)

Date: 2006-04-03 05:31 pm (UTC)I didn't mind the whole triangle wtih Esther/Jarndyce/Woodcourt because it was very touching and pure and honest. I adore Jarndyce, but it is a teensy bit creepy (although he is soo good and kind about it) how he finds Esther and brings her into his home. His intentions were always good and pure, but I guess people can't help who they love, and she and Woodcourt were immediately attracted to each other, it seems. Both of their eyes light up and glow when they look at each other. That's love for sure!
I know, I think I am always "not looking for easy options in life" and in romantic stories often go for something what defies the set of things. I like all forbidden love stories and doomed love stories ;). I think Woodcourt is nice, it is that i like Jarndyce so much.
Doctor Who **sighs**. Here is a "doomed love" story!! The age difference :). Different species. The personality change. ;)

My Azaleas didn't do very well this year. They bloomed too early because we had such warm weather. Then it got cold again and they just wilted. Very sad.
I watched Dr. Who Friday night and I was fascinated. I didn't think I would like it, but I think I might start watching.

Date: 2006-04-03 08:05 pm (UTC)I confess I am not very successful at it and end up getting new ones every year for my tubs ;). My garden is very small, our house is a small town house. I like tubs outside..

O, it would be great! I love Amaryllis. We have rescued one last year from somebody else's office at work and it is a wonderful surprise that it decided to flower this year. It is fantastic! Do they grow outside in Texas?
I love Azaleas too, the park near us has gorgeous Azaleas and Camellias. (My garden is too small for any of them ;)

What did you think about Doctor??

Date: 2006-04-04 01:24 am (UTC)I too adored John Jarndyce. Esther and Mr. Woodcourt did make a fine pair, but I can't help but wish that John Jarndyce had found love as well. And Sergeant George. I had a soft spot for him as well.

Date: 2006-04-04 08:06 am (UTC)*hee* I always want good things happening to characters that are good and kind people, I can't help it! And John Jarndyce was such a good, gentle, caring man. *sighs* Well, Mr. Woodcourt was also lovable and nice. And the tragic end of Lady Dedlock made me all weepy. And Mr. Tulkinghorn was a fascinating character that scared me a lot, Charles Dance's portrayal of that character was simply amazing!!. I'm so glad I bought the Bleak House dvds, as

Date: 2006-04-04 05:11 pm (UTC)I mentioned this elsewhere in a post where I rambled on about Bleak House: How tragic that Lady and Sir Dedlock, Baronet, both underestimated each other - she in misjudging his love for her, and he in underestimating what she would do to protect him. And the parallels between their marriage and what Esther and John's likely would have been was subtly done.

Date: 2006-04-04 12:35 am (UTC)I think what I wanted in Bleak House was for John Jarndyce to find someone else at the end, because he's so good and kind that I don't like to think of him being alone. But I never felt that he and Esther were right for each other, and I think if she'd gone through with the wedding they would have made each other unhappy in the end - as well as the doctor being unhappy - and that would have been even more upsetting.

Date: 2006-04-04 01:30 am (UTC)Huzzah for Bleak House! I wish that John Jarndyce had found true - and mutual! - love. I like to think that he did, in the end. You know, in the parts of the story that Dickens didn't write. I liked that so many of the characters were, after all, good people - John Jarndyce, Sergeant George, Bucket, Sir Leicester, Lady Dedlock.
And the possibility of icons is very nice, indeed! There's no such thing as too many icons.

I can't agree more! He was such a lovely man, and Denis Lawson was fantastic. I used to like him very much in "Holby City" (one of my guilty pleasures), but he didn't stay for long.

Lady Deadlock is absolutely fabulous. I am a huge fan of "X-files", but Gillian Anderson proved in "Bleak House" what a great actress she truly is. She was fantastic in "House of Mirth" (this book is something which breaks my heart, but at the same time fills me with joy of the beauty of it).

I don't remember Lawson in Star Wars. ** note to self : Must see it again **
