alexandral: (World Cup 2010 - Germany second yellow c)

I am not a big fan of England , but fair is fair - the second England goal was totally in. Whatever happens in this match, I feel that unless England wins (which is unlikely), this might make me dislike Germany-the-team for the rest of my life, because one thing that I dislike the most is UNFAIR.

Sorry to the fans of Germany on my friends list - but THIS IS UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: I know that the difference was such that may be the goal would have not made any difference. Or may be it would have had, the dynamics of the match are hard to predict, especially when it is 2:2 at the half-time. Anyways, I didn't care for the outcome too much but I will care for the Argentina : Mexico tonight. If Argentina beats Mexico, I would be really hopeful they can beat Germany too. If Mexico beats Argentina, it will also mean they are good enough to beat Germany!

I don't really dislike Germany because so many of my friends are fans of this team, but at the same time I miss Ballack and his beautiful legs I am vengeful so I will be glad to see Germany beaten, And after that, I will probably feel guilty and sorry for them and may be Ballack will come back.

Why do they have to win? Surely they should draw the game level and we'll see how the game progresses from there. Personally, I think if England do draw the game level now, or late in the second half, the advantage of momentum would be with them anyway. Whereas if that goal had been allowed in, we wouldn't have really known how the match would have progressed, if England would have capitalised on their confidence, especially as half-time breaks can really change the initial pace of the game.

That is absolutely true, but this doesn't really silence that "Unfair!!!" voice in my head. really, I don't think the result matters that much anyways because Argentina is going to wipe the floor with the winner in the quarter-finals. Germany didn't look strong enough to me in their game with Ghana.

Yeah, no argument here about how unfair it is. Even the unfair red cards aren't as bad as this because those were based on how relative a ref's perception and judgement can be whereas this one's just in flagrant defiance of the very rules of football: ie. ball goes into goal=score. :/

Heh, I do like the Germans (and am annoyed that this is how they're going to win) but this, I DEFINITELY agree with. :)

I agree with you - Red cards are not as unfair. The one for Kaka in the Brazilian game totally was, though.

I quite like Germany-the-team too, but it doesn't seem to be the same for me without Ballack!

О, это так несправедливо! Я бы не расстроилась, если бы англичане проиграли по игре, но чтобы так... Обидно. :(

I am the same - it is not as if the result matters too much because whoever wins has to face Argentina (or Mexico) and both these teams look stronger than both England or Germany.

But still - UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was such a bs call. It was totally in. And I don't even care for England.

UNFAIR!!! Still , thy could have played a bit better. Hopefully we'll have some young faces in the World Cup 2014!

It was unfair. But ia that they didn't play very well. I mean they played better than in the group stages but Germany was the better team/had better players. England NT definitely needs some fresh young players imo. Oh well I'll enjoy Germany getting destroyed by Argentina on Tuesday :D Not a Germany fan.

I agree - I think they still would have lost.

Yes, but does it matter? The difference is more than one goal so it would not affect the outcome in any way.

It's hard to say, a 2:2 could've meant a very differnet outcome. Although the German team was way, way better, so...well, we'll never know.

And I think I'll go into hiding now, they're throwing firecrackers out there. So glad it's an early game, so I have a chance of getting some sleep tonight. *gg*

Yes, same here - I hope everything will settle by the midnight. It is not as if the outcome was totally unpredictable.

It is hard to predict the outcome, the difference between 2:1 and 2:2 at the half-time is dramatic (for the spirit). But yes, it looked as if Germany was stronger.

More importantly - have you seen the latest chapters of "Summer's desire"? OMPH! The butler's shenanigans unveiled! OC is a total otomen because he made every single gift he gave to XM himself (including necklaces and dolls)!!!!!

I have finally gotten WC fever (and now that US is out, I can watch peacefully without worrying about the outcome) - I am so looking forward to Mexico/Argentina match.

Re: SD. Yes yes yes, the butler did it! It was exciting. And lol at Ou Chen making all the gifts - if his comoany ever goes but he can go do arts and crafts.

Hee! I am so glad! I am so watching Argentina/Mexico too - this is where all the interesting stuff is going to happen! Who are your favourites so far?

I thought the gift thing was soooooo sweet, they were really proper gifts. He could have bought her anything, but he made something by his own hands.

But WHAT? About him trying to commit suicide too? I am glad he didn't let her know that he tried it!

I like both Argentina and Mexico (but Argentina more because Maradonna is amusing and for a bizarre reason that we went to Buenos Aires a few years back and I loved it). Also yay for Uruguay because they are the underdog.

I am bitter about Ghana :) and indifferent about European teams.

Re: Ou Chen. I think suicide is contageous in SD. But I did love that he told her it was an accident - that is very very thoughtful of him and very kind. (And presumably he's gotten over suicide issues - it was a long time ago and an impulse thing).

I do think, by now, OC would make her a better partner than LX (especially since he's learned how to not be posessive all the time and give her space to breathe) but the thing is - I feel so awful for LX, I want him to find some happiness, he is so broken.

That butler - ughughugh

You see, I don't feel sorry for LX aT ALL. And I just realised why: he feels sorry for himself so much that it is almost the only thing he feels (who otherwise will be thinking OMPH! She is gonna leave me" on the first day after she started living in his flat?). It is enough for him to feel sorry for himself!

It's not like Germany cheated--a foul that wasn't called, etc. And then they romped all over England in the second half, so if England couldn't rally and use the "unfair" as motivation (as the US did in coming back against Slovenia and Algeria), that's a huge problem.

I think Germany was stronger, but the difference between 2:1 and 2:2 at the half-time could have made all the difference. Anyways, i think my latest vane of interest in Germany is largely due to the lack of Ballack, I think. :D

I actually disagree--I think it would have been a huge difference if that disallowed goal was the *go-ahead* goal--then England would have spent the half trying to fix their defense. But if it had been tied going into the second half, England still would have had to have taken more offensive chances--and there is no way England would have survived extra time, because their players were gassed out by about the 60th minute as it was. Anyway, they got burned with a poor defense and a tied game wouldn't have allowed them to rest.

It is hard to say how things could have worked out (may be England players would have managed to defend, who knows? And then Germany would have won on penalties? Or not?), but I agree that Germany looked stronger during the match (as it was).

And EEEEEEE - I have forgotten to say "Thank you" for the lovely birthday ball!

it would have been unfair if Germany won by 2:1 because that goal was in for sure. no doubt about it.
i have been Germany supporter as long as i remember (since is was young, in my backhome country) and i alwasy cheered for them but still felt sorry when that goal was not allowed.
to be honest, i think Germany deserved to win because of their playing. much better than England. of course it would have made difference if the first half had ended 2:2 because England team would have high spirit to win. but they had the second half to play for and they did not.
what i hated the most was people over confident of themselves over their game with Germany. never underestimate your opponent. everytime i heard that, i wished for Germany win.
well, it's all over for England now. what you expect with such lousy play in every match they had. atleast, no one can say they were robbed of their victory because this would be unfair.

and i think i know what your reply will be anyway. hehehe
"still, UNFAIR"
ps. Happy belated Birthday day dear. sorry i missed it.

yep, one thing I agree on - I don't think England deserved to win. They are too full of themselves!

it was total karmic payback time.

But, the upside is that watching the rest of tournament will be more lighthearted :-)

I think the first thing they said on TV (and many shouted while watching the game) was like "Payback for Wembley '66", same situation, only in favour of England.
Well, I' never thought about it that way, because it's complete bullshit. o.o

i think this is a complete BS too - these are different players, different people and almost different countries. We aren't going to go all the way to the WW2, do we?
