I have to make this short because of the Project of Doom thing:

1. I have watched BSG finale this morning and I had to get up an hour earlier for this because of above mentioned POD. And of course now if wish I never did because I have been VERY-VERY upset the whole day and unnecessary forceful at the meetings. Because what can the girl do when :



2. Lee’s arms, deltoids, triceps, EVERYTHING IS GONE.

3. Kara doesn’t love him anymore

4. Kara says things like “this is MY own man “ (the man I OWN)

5. EVERYBODY IS HAVING A TERRIBLE HAIRCUT DAY

6. LEE WANTS TO LEAVE all the civilians behind. MY LEE!!!


The only GOOD thing is that queenofthorns has written this amazing fiction and now I can laugh about it and not involve my soul so much with Lee, Kara, Kara/Lee.

I SAY BIGGEST EVER THANK YOU to queenofthorns because, I guess, BSG for about a year was a part of me and I felt really really sad that this part of me was spoiled ( and before this moment I didn’t even realise what a big part it was and how silly it is to get attached to something fictional and even probably not everything is spoiled and I am over-dramatising everything). But now I can laugh about it all..

it reminds me of The Wire second season when they started the whole dock stiryline and moved what had been the A storyline(Barksdake and his crew and the squad working against them) to the B one.

Heh! See, I think the problem for me with this comparison is that I agree that "The Wire" Season 2 was absolutely brilliant; but that was also because all of these new characters were actually fascinating and beautifully written and that even though the show had moved away from the whole focus being on the Barksdale crew, that was never the entire intent even of Season 1 - "The Wire" to me was always as much social commentary as a crime show, and the social commentary in season 2 was about the decline of an American industrial base that left former workers stranded in a no-man's land without options. In the end, Ziggy and Nick were not much different from Wallace and Poot and Bodie who might have done other things if they'd been born in other places.

Whereas this time-jump on BSG just seems to be resetting everything to where we were in the miniseries, and I think that it shows a lack of imagination, a reliance on shock rather than on actually organically developing (or taking a look at) the problematic aspects of Season 2. They've never shown us very good pictures of what's going on in the Fleet - that could have actually gone a long way to explaining Baltar's victory. And they've re-imagined the characters in such a way that because I haven't SEEN any of the changes that happened to them to see why they are so different, they just seem like these new, different, not very likeable people and I just don't care all that much what happens to them now.

this is where a lot of people lose me, I'm not singling you out because I have seen this sentiment from many others.

it makes sense that Laura would go back to teaching, it actually made me happy to see her doing that, it was the first time she has ever seemed to be really enjoying herself. The Chief being a union leader is perfect, very natural. and though seeing him with Cally is a jolt after the attack, I always though they would get together someday. the Tighs seem pretty much the way they always were. and Gaeta working for Baltar is great, its great to see how the hero-worship spell is finally broken. and of course Bill wouldn't leave the ship.

I don't have a problem with Starbuck marrying or leaving the military. I'm not a great Anders fan but I don't see how she is living is outside of her personality either. she's impulsive. she's been pining for the guy, their relationship is easy compared to many of her others. and she was engaged before it not as if she was against marriage for herself. and re Lee and Kara's relationship and rift, yeah making out in front of him was bad but not intentionally cruel on her part. Lee however (sorry Lee worshipers) frequently is prick and the man can hold a grudge. don't get me wrong I love the character but he is screwed up, he is a fraked up as Kara or Tigh or any of the rest.

I do agree with this but I think its mainly budget and time constraints that prevent them from exploring the fleet. and I don't think its all that strange that people who have been running fo nine months would want to stop and settle somewhere even if the conditions were not really good. no one outside of Galactica knows how strange Baltar is(the talking to himself)no one outside of Roslin and Adama knows about Six and they have no proof.

and a lot of them probably don't believe in earth and don't trust Roslin or Adama. in fact I probably wouldn't.

Well, I feel that they've reimagined the characters throughout the back half of Season 2, to the point where a good deal of Laura's decision-making confuses me utterly; and I'll just point to the fact that Laura and Adama were willing to murder Cain without a second thought, yet they're horrified by ballot-stuffing? WHAT?

Lee and Kara's relationship and rift, yeah making out in front of him was bad but not intentionally cruel on her part.

Asking Lee if he was still frakking Dualla and telling him to find a girlfriend WAS cruel, IMO, even if it was done unintentionally (and Kara is often unintentionally cruel - at what point does she have to stop being that way.)

Yes, Lee can bear a grudge, but come on, he forgave Starbuck for passing Zak in flight school; he forgave her for shooting him; he forgave her for trying to use him to forget about Anders - since "Scar", I've seen nothing in his behavior to her that warrants her being cruel to HIM. He's been a damn good friend to her (something that seemed to matter to her a great deal not very long before she comes back with Anders), and just out of FRIENDSHIP I think she should have not been so nasty about Dee. She doesn't want Lee so why does she care who he sleeps with? Why bring it up at all?

As for the time-jump, I thought it was a total copout, which will necessitate either never telling us anything about how they got to where they were or more of the flashback narration I found so very irksome in the latter half of this season.

Your mileage obviously varies; I'm glad the finale worked so well for you, but it didn't for me.

I am glad that for you it all makes sense.

You see, Starbuck's character development was very un-logical for me starting with the fact that one day she fantasizes about Lee and then in a week or so she finds a love of her life. And I guess it doesn’t help that I don’t find Anders even remotely interesting and for some strange reason he looks like Lee.

And if not for this love stuff one day we see a Starbuck who is willing to die for her friends and then we see a person who is deliberately hurting her friend. And I have read that she was badmouthing Dee and was rude to lee because she was drunk and impulsive. It doesn’t work for me, I noticed that Russian proverb “what sober has in mind, a drunk speaks out” true in many cases and yes, I believe after the finale episode that Starbuck thinks badly about Dee and doesn’t care about Lee..

, and Laura's character development was un-logical to, not because she become a teacher , but because(sorry for me being so Lee-centric ;) she did have a friendship with Lee and they went through many things together, and Where has this all gone?

I think you're talking to Alexandra, not me, but I don't think any version's aired there, so I expect Alexandra saw a download of the 90-minute version that aired in the US.

I have seen the one i have downloaded because this episode was not yet aired in UK.. Is this the full version? Will be really frustrating if when this season is out on DVD we will see some cut out scenes which will explain it all..
