well, he did leave civilians behind in the miniseries as well - they had to leave the ships without the FTL drives, remember? And Lee says he hates to make it a numbers game but it really is?
That part actually didn't bug me - he was right; they could stay and fight pointlessly and have the last remnants of humanity destroyed because the humans were too stupid to keep their battlestars and the rest of their fleet capable of running away and believed that the Cylons were gone. Or else they could do what Lee said - run from an untenable situation, but with the intention of coming back to fight another day... It's not like Lee and Adama are gone forever. So I actually think that was the right decision.
Kara? Upset me. Fat lee? Upset me A LOT! That just shows you how shallow I am.
(And I too am mourning the BSG I used to love; I don't know who these people are any more or why I'm supposed to care anything about what happens to them.
