I need subs to analyze this properly, but , In one phrase: How adorable can Jung Woo get???

Also: Oh no they didn't??? Or did they? It suspiciously looks as if Ki Hoon and Hyo Sun have spent a night together. I honestly hope they didn't because in kdrama world this equals marriage. And there is no way Ki Hoon will marry Hyo Sun???

As everyone else, however, I loved how Ki Hoon told Hyo Sun off. This was well overdue, but will it not be too late? 24 is a little old for any serious character changes?

One other thing came to my mind - I thought that Hyo Sun is an exact copy of Eun Joo's mom, only younger. She also has everything in a way of superficial charm and good looks, but doesn't really want to do anything to support herself. All Hyo Sun is looking for is a man to take care if her, poor Ki Hoon most likely. And she doesn't really love the man she has chosen, it is all because she decided that he is someone who would be able to look after her.

Totally.

Regarding HS/KH - Since she was fourteen, HS has been calling KH "Mine". I honestly don't think HS is in love with KH at all. She just likes that he's "hers" and that he can take care of her.

Regarding KH yelling at HS - It's about time someone told her to wake up and start doing something. She thinks everything will come to her if she pouts or pushes (like ballet - never practices but expects leads), so it's good that someone finally told her you have to work for what you want.

Regarding JW - he's adorable and sweet. The fact that he and EJ have a past and that she was fond of him when they were younger makes the triangle more real for me. EJ sees JW as someone familiar - someone who actually wants her and came to her - so, if she develops even a hint of feelings for him, it will make sense.

Regarding a possible KH/HS hookup - It's doubtful. The preview also showed them in a car and it looked like HS was moving in for a kiss -but KH had a 'whoa' kind of reaction.

This might be why EJ reacts against HS in such a big way, really , Ej has her problems, but so far HS and her mother are only people EJ is rude to.

so it's good that someone finally told her you have to work for what you want.

I hope she won't take is the way "she must entice KH somehow, by all means".

The fact that he and EJ have a past and that she was fond of him when they were younger makes the triangle more real for me.

This is exactly it - I love what you said! The only problem, I see her developing "noona" feelings for him but him falling hard for her and then - i don't want JW to suffer!

yes, indeed. You made me feel better. I have been really worried. but it looks as if they are in a hotel? But isn't this too posh for a hotel? What if something happened and they ended up in one bed??? I want tomorrow to come quickly.

True. She may be business-like with others, but she's only actually rude to her mom and HS, most likely because she sees her mother in HS. I guess that is why she's always pushing HS - because she wants HS to do something and not end up like the mom.

"she must entice KH somehow, by all means".

Sigh. I could see it happening.

The only problem, I see her developing "noona" feelings for him but him falling hard for her and then - i don't want JW to suffer!

I agree! I love JW and don't want his heart to break.

I think they are in a hotel - is it the same one they were in at the end at ep 7? Or does HS do something dumb and KH goes to save her? She does look rather upset.

yes, this is a good point. She always seems to be testing HS and expecting HS to "surprise" her. But I think at the moment, EJ is jealous of KH/HS (silly girl!), I don't think EJ is very fair at the moment. but I understand jealousy.

May be she is upset and sneaks into his room, as princess_dexter said??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Okay, I was kind of disturbed by those shots as well, but I calmed down and thought about it logically and they honestly don't make any sense, especially since he's wearing the same clothes he was wearing when he answered HS's knock at the door. Maybe she came in and cried herself to sleep, so he let her sleep on his bed? Or maybe she's just freaking out about the news re: her dad and he's letting her cry out her frustrations? Either way, for KH to do anything with HS at this point would be extremely out-of-character - only last episode he was giving her a well-deserved dressing down, like the good oppa that he is, and now ignoring his feelings for EJ and jumping into bed with HS?

(It's definitely some clever editing for the preview though - well done to the promo team!)

JW continues to be the most adorable thing in the entire world. I really liked the parallels in this ep, where EJ follows Daesung all the way to the factory because she honestly has no idea what to say to him, and back in ep 5 or 6 where JW follows her all the way to the beach, radiating good feelings but again, not sure what to say. And then next ep (you watched the long preview for ep 8, yes?) where he not only follows her, but scoops her up in his arms and just runs like a big, dorky gazelle, grinning at everyone and everything and be still my heart!

I'm sad that JW will be hurt by the way the OTP will play out in the end, because I think he's the perfect secondary guy for EJ, and I love how they keep showing him doing the things KH used to be able to do for EJ but can no longer due to her coldness, his schemes and their frustrated feelings, whereas JW can just turn the shoes and hunt her down at night and he does all of those things happily. (Did he give her his bank book at the end of ep 7? If so...that kind of makes me love him EVEN MORE).

And I'm with you on HS being a mirror of the mother. You can probably argue that part of the mother's ways have rubbed off on her but HS wouldn't have turned out that way if she wasn't already like that; EJ has strived all her life to turn out the exact opposite to her mother, and again, the roles the sisters fill are informed by the choices that they make.

I honestly hope so, but you know how this all ends in Kdrama? She will be blackmailing him in no time and telling all sorts of stories of "I slept in his room" to EJ.

yes, I keep saying this to myself too, but not with too much success. together in a hotel = always comes back to bite you in Kdrama.

Oh, I haven't thought of it this way, but isn't this great?

I have watched this bit few times. D: he must be reallstrong. D: Ej is only tiny, but still - running with someone in his hands like this must be difficult.

And the bank bookwas so adorable too. I started thinking that this drama might turn too heavy, but no, not with JW.

I think HS was like this before, and this is why HS and the mother found common language with each other pretty quickly (even the fact that they both like drinking is the same). Also, I imagine that the mother wasn't as hardened as she is now, but because she didn't have any realistic expectations and always relied on her beauty and powers of manipulations, she eventually became what she is now.

I am also wondering what is the story behind KH's mother's death. They keep hinting all terrible things, but nothing certain yet.

You know what's really weird? I am realizing I am not shipping anyone in this drama even though I love watching KH/EJ interactions because they are so layered and intense.

I am not shipping KH/EJ because both are too damaged and not (I believe) deserving yet or capable yet of being in a relationship - I just don't see how they'd function together in a long run.

Not shipping KH/HS or EJ/JW because the maturity level is so different, with one party being eons more grown-up than the other. Also, in EJ/JW's case, JW is too nice a guy to be pulled into a relationship with damaged mess that is EJ.

I love watching their interactions yet.

I think this is a similar drama to "Que Sera Sera", in a sense that everyone is all shades of gray, only JW is caught in between, poor puppy.

i still ship them though. They have such an intensity together, it gives me goosebumps to watch them. But yes, unless there are some major changes, this can't end well. I hope for some changes, though. May be if she relises that he DID write her a letter? or anything else? If everyone could change in QSS, why not here? I amnot getting "gloom" vibe at all and after Chuno's ending I decided to trust my groom radar.

Like you, I love watching them all. they feel real somehow? HS, I love to hate but she is real in a sense that she is not vilified. EJ I like to excuse, but at the same time I see her shortcomings. KH - I want to hit him on his head repeatedly.

Your QSS comparison is spot on.

I agree they all feel real, even the horrible Mom Kang Sook.

I think I may be taking a little break from CU though - it's still excellent but it's so sad and they are all so damaged I think I may put it off until I am in the mood - right now I am desperately craving cheerfulness.

Even with the letter, I think KH and EJ need a lot of therapy and/or some growth before they could function together as a couple. Two really damaged people do not make a functional relationship. I hope they get there at the end though.

You must join me on my "Queen Seon Deok" watch. I am loving it. Bidam is funny. He is like a lighter version of Dae Gil. I am going to pretend that it ends on the episode 58, though - and I am 100% sure they added the ending only because history told them so.

I am loving CU, it doesn't seem to affect me as strongly as "Chuno" did, just the right dose of angst.

I've seen QSD (not all of it, the selective, i.e. Bidam scenes). Loved it.

CU makes me more depressed. Maybe because Chuno was epic and this is very every day.

I really don't get the gloom feeling in CU at all, so I am all "Oh, your suffering in my pleasure because you all are going to be together, loving and forgiving each other. may be the evil mother will get comeuppance".

With "Chuno", I did one thing that didn't help - I got really involved in the soompi thread. The thread was awesome, take me right, but everyone there was "Oh nooooooo! Everyone will die!" and bringing spoilers that weren't even true at the end. So , although I didn't see doom and gloom, I felt it by proxy because I do tend to soak emotional atmosphere (tangentially, this is one of things I do filter on). After that , i decided to trust myself a bit more. :D I think there will be EJ/KH breakthrough soon, I am waiting for this. Also, I don't particular love any current dramas - PP is subbing a bit slowly (I am not complaining, but I need subs to get into it) and "Oh my lady" - I wish more things were happening already.

Oh, I am pretty sure CU will end well. I just don't want atm to deal with the misery leading to it. I am sure I'll feel differently in a couple of weeks. My fluff-craving moods don't usually last long.

Jdramas are very good for fluff-craving. Sometimes there is so much fluff there - I bounce right back into wanting some plain old misery.
