He is sad and I like him as a character but I agree with you - he and UN are very not compatible any more. If they ever were together for a length of time, it would come out and they couldn't live with each other, I think.
Plus, I prefer TH in general - he is a noble person and a heroic one, and DG is neither. I always go for 'good boys.'
I really do love that she loves them both though. For DG, her love is mixed with guilt and grief and is all too complicated by memory (she loves the old image not the new man). For TH - it's complicated by the shadows of young!DG in him and her marital sense of duty. I really don't think she loves one more than the other.
