Watched “Sunshine” - Film is very thought-provoking. It is a story of three generations of Jewish family in Hungaria during tree epochs – monarchy, fascism and Stalinism. Ralph Fiennes does a top job of portraying grandfather, father and a son. (I am back to liking him, I think, but- he is quite sad again in the “Sunshine”, poor thing)

Things i can't get from under my skin: (Some spoilers)

1.Predestination.
Are we predestined to certain traits of character? How much can we choose our own actions? All three generations seems to be bound to some vicious circle – to come under the influence of political power of the day and to become so much loyal as to build a way to the destruction of themselves as humans. And all three generations are bound to love unsuitable women.

2. Anti-semitism
Abhor anti-Semitism and any form of national and racial division. When people are unsatisfied they feel the need to find somebody to blame and somebody to hurt so that can feel better. Why?(Vomit)

3.Stalinism
This is the curse of my country (I still count Russia as my country, I guess I have two countries now ;) – something we will remember for a long time. Stalin.
My mother and father still think that he was great and Stalin’s era was the happiest time EVER.
How all Russian people were so brainwashed that they happily accepted murder, betrayal, injustice, genocide? How it come that interrogated by NKVD party officials signed the confessions of their “crimes” and confessed “crimes” themselves during the staged “processes”?

It all leads I believe to the question of personal FREEDOM (And this is how the “Sunshine” ends)

4. Personal freedom
Ability “breathe freely” A gift some have and some don’t. “Trust no one, examine all things yourself”. Trust your gut feeling, don’t sacrifice it, EVER!!!!!!!
