alexandral: (Chuno - Tae Ha and Dae Gil)
[personal profile] alexandral
Prologue: Oh noes!!!!!!!!! Everyone is going to die!!

My favorite moments:
1. Hye Won and Dae Gil. So beautiful together and so sad apart:

2. Tae Ha's men. They are so fabulous and they support him unconditionally. I must find the name of the guy on the left (before he dies). Update: his name is Lee Kwang-jae , played by Jo Sung Il (thank you to [livejournal.com profile] sooee)

3. Tae Ha is the kind of husband who doesn't nag his wife even if she ignores him during their first married morning. And he will listen to whatever she has to say, without interrupting. (This kind of a guy won't live long, right?)

My rambly thoughts

- Hye Won saw Dae Gil and she cried so pitifully! Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor young lovers!!!

- Tae Ha and the scholar guy disagree on some important matters. Tae Ha is holding his anger in so far.

- Tae Ha's guys are most awesome and ready to support him

- Both Wang Son and General Choi died at the end of the episode, from Chul Woong's hand. But it seems that he framed Tae Ha for this. ** stabbity stab **. I hate you, Chul Woong! Because you are not good enough to deal with Tae Ha yourself you are making Dae Gil (the only person who is good enough) to do your dirty work! ** hate hate hate **

- Hye Won seems to have told everything (only I don't understand here - about her past or about seeing Dae Gil as well?) to Tae Ha.

- In the preview, Tae Ha tells the evil scholar that "This will not do". Very firmly.

- In the previews, the evil scholar is abducting the Little Prince. Oh no, you will not go far - Tae Ha will find you.

- In the preview Dae Gil is making an oath to bring Tae Ha down (it seems).

Epilogue: OH MY POOR HEART!!

Crapola, I'm not liking this turn of events one bit. I knew Wan Song would buy it as he (the actor) has been selected to another drama but General Choi too. Chul Woong, you are truly hateful! I hope the other slavehunter gets you.... Pity everyone else will end up dead before that happens.

So, it'll be Dae Gil as the lone ranger from now on.

I kind of applaud the screenwriter here because I was raking my brains just yeasterday thinking "Oh! I wish I knew how the ball will start rolling, what will make Dae Gil go after Tae Ha!". It was established previously that Tae Ha's fighting skills are way superior to anyone else's , apart from Dae Gil's.

On the other hand, I see few inconsistencies here. Mostly around the fact that Dae Gil ( who seemed to be a pretty sharp thinker just 3 episodes ago ) seem to have lost his powers of logical thinking:

1. He sees Tae Ha/Hye Won/the baby and immediately assumes the baby is THEIR baby. Why? Wasn't Dae Gil the person who told his guys that Tae Ha is heading for Jeju (obviously, to find the Prince) ? So wouldn't it be logical for anyone who is also supposed to be a sharp thinker to recognise the Prince , especially considering the boy is still wearing the mourning garments (and no-one else does)?

2. He immediately accepts that Tae Ha killed his guys. Why? A happily-married family guy sneaks around at night killing lowly Chunos?

May be the creators are trying to hint that Dae Gill is losing it????

1. I think it's an emotional reaction - it's been demonstrated that when it comes to UN he loses all power of rational thinking and just turns into id.

2. Well, we'll see how it goes. He could very well go after him only half-believing TH murdered them but this is, nontheless, best way to find out who did. He isn't exactly Holmes.

But yeah, I think overall DG is definitely losing it badly.

Did you know that Gen Choi has been cast in a drama with Park Shi Ho and the North Korean spy lady from IRIS?

1. Yes, I thought more about this and it is definitely an indication of him losing it. This is where my personal gripes with his character come into action. His only and sole purpose and reason for living and doing everything he does is UN. This kind of obsession is just going to bring doom and gloom on everyone (UN first). For example, it didn't help general Choi and Wang Son that Dae Gil was away from them, stalking around other people's bedrooms.

You know, DG/TH duo reminds me of Damdeok and Ho Gae from "The Legend". TH is a bit like Damdeok (whatever you through at him he seems to be able to cope, so far) and DG is a bit like Ho Gae - a man of obsessions that drag him down.

2. it looked like he was making some kind of oath, something similar to what Native Americans did when they used to get on the war path and shouting "Song Tae Ha".

Did you know that Gen Choi has been cast in a drama with Park Shi Ho and the North Korean spy lady from IRIS?

Yay! But it looks as if he got the role of the "secondary guy" there, which can not be entirely good.

Yeah, plotwise it makes sense. Dae Gil needed a good enough incentive to go after Tae Ha and getting his 'family' killed (again) will do nicely.

I find it interesting how DG, JH and CW are all loosing it. None of them is exactly together any more. The only one who seems to have pulled through his ordeals still sane is TH.

Tae Ha is such a GOOD man. Too compassionate for his own good as well. He should have offed CW at that beach when he had the chance but obviously he does not watch TV is not aware of the 'never a good deed left unpunished' saying. :) There's snowballs chance in hell of him surviving. He's toast for sure... Good, compassionae idealists never make it. It would not surprise me in the least if DG is the only one still alive at the end.

I've never seen DG as especially brainy. He has plenty of streetsmarts but Gen Choi was the cool thinker of that group. God, I'm already missing Choi! He was the voice of reason and now that he's gone there's nothing to anchor DG any more.

Yes, it is one of more interesting things that is going on in the drama. Consequences for one's actions are shown, as well as changes in the characters. I am so so afraid for Dae Gil - oh no, boy! Where are you going?????

I am not afraid for Tae Ha's character anymore - I don't think there is any way for creators to change the concept of his character at this stage. He will be definitely ending as one of my all-time favourites.

Re: offing CW. I knew it there and then that TH should have done it, but at the same time - he wouldn't be the same man after that, would he? I feel there is a big slashy OTP going on here - CW seems to be just looking for TH's approval so badly and being not satisfied by what he is given? Obviously, we see what a man TH is and there is no way TH had ever looked down upon anyone, so I guess CW just wants more. :D

Yes, my predictions are that TH will die first. But this will open the way for DG/UN to be together again (there is no way otherwise, not with the great big TH being her husband) . Hopefully Dae Gil and Un Nyun will live but after the 14th episode I am worrying that this all can go the way of Shakespearian tragedies (with EVERYONE dying).

I've never seen DG as especially brainy. He has plenty of streetsmarts but Gen Choi was the cool thinker of that group. God, I'm already missing Choi! He was the voice of reason and now that he's gone there's nothing to anchor DG any more.

Yes, General Choi was even smarter than DG, but I am rewatching the episode 8 now and it was definitely DG who told them that TH is leading for JeJu (which is kind of quite neat thinking). But that all was before he found any traces of UN, it seems that as soon as he caught a glimpse of her he started losing his rational thinking.

This is my personal gripe with DG's character. I find him very very hot but - his whole life seem to rotate around UN. This doesn't help anyone (it didn't help General Choi that DG was not with them, stalking TH and UN), really, these kind of obsessive feelings are just going to bring doom and gloom to everyone, even Un. He has to change fast.

YAY! So many things happened. You can't blame this drama for moving too slowly. I imagine may be you will like the opening scene. :D

As much as I have enjoyed watching Chul-woong's (LJH IS SUCH A BAD@SS) complex character the man deserves to die. First he killed so many under the minister's orders and now for his bitter personal reasons to get Tae-ha. :(

2. The guy on the left is Lee Kwang-jae (played by Jo Sung-il). I also think he's quite awesome! ^^

I have really enjoyed Chul-woong's character too. The thing he did with dae Gil's guys was really quite devious. Thinking more on this - I think he has a big love for TH but it has gone all warped and turned into hate. Gosh, poor General Choi!

I am still heart-broken but I admit - this was a neat move for Chul Woong! Now Dae Gil will not stop at anything and will try everything to get TAe HA . And as his powers of rationing are impaired (he is losing is so badly) he will not stop to think twice.
