Sharpe's Challenge
Apr. 23rd, 2006 11:33 pmJust finished watching "Sharpe's Challenge", part 1. It is really good:
- The way Sean Bean speaks with Yorkshire accent makes my heart to beat fast. Very fast!
- He looks totally like Jaime Lannister during his trip from Riverrun.
- Beautiful Indian ladies. I want to be Indian, I always did!
- Young Maharadja is very attractive.
- Toby Stephens is very attractive too. But very evil and menacing. He does evil fantastically well! And has some long hair!
BUT: (Here comes the serious part): British occupation of India:
I am very much against English occupation of India. And Africa. And other parts of the planet. It was very wrong. I don't even think it has brought any of acclaimed "progress" to India. I think it was a setback for this culturally very old and rich country. All it did was so many murders and deaths of Indian people. Every time I watch an English film about these times, I feel a need to argue with everybody about all this :). Sorry.
So I am entirely on the side of Indians in this film. I don't know what developments will bring. Perhaps for a change Indian side will win. :)
