Twilight samurai
Oct. 3rd, 2005 05:54 pmI have watched “Twilight Samurai” today and I am totally blown away and in love again and just want to talk about it all ...
In Short: Beautiful if unusual romance. Film is absolutely PERFECT!!!
19 century Japan – the country with very old traditions and strange code of honour in the time of change.
The country of incredibly cool samurai with the worst haircuts ever in the history of mankind

The hats they wear come second worst after the ones of British Navy.
Seibei Iguchi (by Hiroyuki Sanada) is cool, kind, free-thinking, great swordsman, cutely shy and philosophical.
And he is a HERO!!!!

Sebei goes through tough personal decisions and hardship with amazing integrity.
There is a one of the most touching, yet totally non-cheesy romances on-screen between him and Tomoe Iinuma.
There is also the HOT and SEXY SCENE OF THE MONTH between them: Tomoe helping Sebei to dress and spending VERY LONG time fastening his belt located in the groin area. She also brushes HIS hair. I need a cool-down after all of this…

Btw, Hiroyuki Sanada has a couple of movies that I really hope they get released here: The Promise and The White Countess. They look pretty interesting ;)

Date: 2005-10-03 09:36 pm (UTC)I think what put me off was the line from IMDB "Plot Outline: A 19th-century samurai tries to protect a battered wife". This plotline doesn't quite fit the story!!..
But, i will not spoil it for you..
My DVD is dubbed in Russian, which made it slightly weird to watch. I prefer subtitles.
