I have been pondering quite a lot on the HP phenomena. I think the fact that the books are so middle-of-the-road and "wholesome" might be a big contributing fact to their popularity. It is like "High School musical" with magic. And another thing - these books are very BRITHISH. This might be a contributing factor too.
I am on the third film now and yes - it is very good. Ron is my favouritest character overall, I must go and find some of his icons in your lj (I think I remember you making some of Ron).
