Something crossed my attention this spring: everyone is wearing Ugg boots. Ugg boots look good, cost too much and seem to be worn during the warm time of the year. But something is very strange!!!! I haven't seen anyone wearing these 100% sheep-skin, very warm-looking boots during the snowy times in February . But now - the weather is warm and everyone is wearing them . And even more - I have seen girls wearing them last summer. I am totally mystified. Why would someone wear sheep-skin boots in over 20C degrees weather? Would not your feet feel hot???? I used to have padded sheep-skin boots in Russia and they seemed to make your feet feel boiling in any weather warmer than 0C. Do Ugg boots have a speciall thermos thing inside to help your feet stay cool?

See: a girl sitting in a desert in Ugg Boots.

This is one of the strangest things.

I am in southern california right now and people love them around here. They wear in spring and with shorts.

I think the fad starting from australia may have something to do with it. I also think it is more about the look rather than the warmth in places like southern california. Uggs are expensive so they symbolize some kind of income. Also in colder places where they actually get snow, uggs are too expensive to ruin them in snow.

Also even just wearing a scarf around the next, or socks make a huge difference in how warm your entire body is. So while you can go around in tanktops and shorts in cool weather, you can warm up with uggs which balances out your overall comfort level.

You see, I have also been curious about this phenomena and have given it some thought. LOL.
It boggled my mind until I worked some the reasons out. I still think the combination of shorts and uggs is weird though.

This. They're not uggs, but if I didn't wear my favorite boots even when it's a little warm, I'd never wear them at all -- I don't want to ruin them on the cold, wet, mushy days!
