There is a whole new range of Walkers crisps (my daughter tells me that these things are called chips in USA, I am not sure if this is true).

Meet Cajun Squirrel (below). I am not to sure what to think - because as always, my sense of humor is not so good and I imagine little furry squirrels, being .. you know.. in crisps?

Here is the whole range, icluding Builders breakfast, Chilli and chips, crispy duck and hoisin, fish and chips, onion bhaji

Now I wonder what chips/crisps are called in different countries.

In Germany, we also call crisps chips and chips (French Fries) are Pommes (Pommes de Frite) :D

But I agree with you about the Cajun Squirrel flavour ... that is just ... ummm.... a no go. However, Cajun Squirrel IS indeed a famous dish in Louisana and Mississippi, it is a Cajun and Creole dish ... must be that redneck thing.

I think they are called ships in Russia too, but because I am not too keen on them I am not si certain. We didn't have them when I grew up. :D

OHHHH - there is even a real dish like that. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

You beat me to it! :)

The cajun squirrel flavor irritates me, too. Salt and vinegar is my favorite. Or FunnyFrisch's Ungarisch flavor. :)

My favourite is the "original" flavour. We don't seem to have have "FunnyFrisch's Ungarisch flavor" here - ** pouts **.

Yes, called chips ion the US, and your chips are our french fried (but you probably knew the second one); the Walkers Loyayo looks like the "LAYS" logo from over here.

Who knows, this might be the same company operating in different countries. "Walkers" is the biggest brand of crisps/chips here.

Walkers is in fact owned by "Lays" - and has been since 1991 apparently; so yeah, good for me, recognising the logo. I wonder if they started doing things like those in a specific area of the US (ie: South) if they'd pick Cajun Squirrel....

Oh, cool!!! Nowdays everything belongs to a limited number of international companies.

I was compelled to look this up when I got back from work.

And yeah, I'd love if some US company was owned by another country's company though.

For variety.

Because we are not always that awesome.

Usually aren't.

Anyway, also, there's this company called Miss Vickie's over here - awesome chips, also owned by Lays though.

We call them chips too, but we write the word differently (the way we pronounce it), with the letter "č".

Cool - in Russia the word starts with letter "ч" , and it is pronounced as "chipsi"

Hehehe, well, I do admit that that one at least (and onion Bhaji) seems a little feasible. ^^

I bought a pack today and we tried different flavours at work. Onion bhaji is quite nice IMHO. :D

It's...creepy, as far as I'm concerned :-\
btw, here we call them "chips" usually, but the Italian word for it is "patatine" (like, "tiny potatoes")!

It seems that the whole world call them chips, exept from the UK. :D

Yup, we call 'em chips. And I think those squirrel crisps look hysterical.

Edited because I'm so tired I typed the entirely wrong word.

I confess - I got tempted and tried quite some of them. The squirrel one's are not too bad. but Chilli and Chips are totally wrong.
