Happy Tatiana's day!

The time seems to be moving so fast and I was reminded today by my mother that today is one of my most loved Russian holidays - Tatiana's day!!! It is not just a name-day for all Tatianas (like myself :D) but also a special day for all students. St.Tatiana is a patroness of all things student and also Moscow's University was founded on this day in 1755, by Empress Elisaveta Petrovna's decree on 25th of January.

Below is Elisaveta's decree, I love the opening title "By God's mercy, We, Elisaveta I, empress and autocrat of all Russia and so on , and so on and so on. I love the "So on" bit. :D Also I love the decree itself too, it has much to say about the importance of science!!!

aw, I didn't know about this decrete! Also, I didn't know Tatiana is the students' patroness, we don't have such a patron here in Italy, so I guess I'll celebrate this, from now on :)

Wow, I had no idea that such a patron/holiday exists! This makes me extremely happy, as, by one of my habits, I'll adopt the celebration. We don't have such thing in our tradition, as long as far as I know, so I'll be glad to celebrate yours :D.
