alexandral: (Generation Kill - Brad - sceptical)

Generation Kill has affected me in a way I would have never expected - I am beginning to be interested in politics. As in READING NEWS DAILY! I hope this goes away soon because the news nowdays seem to be so worrying!! For one thing, prices on gas are rising dramatically in the UK!

And may be I will be posting about USA elections soon? But seriously, would it not be great if an African-American could win the elections?

Also, from this article , BBC NEWS: For those too young to remember the Cold War, comes the following verse by Sting:

We share the same biology,
regardless of ideology.
Believe me when I say to you,
I hope the Russians love their children too

Did Sting imply here that Russians may or may not love their children? Puzzling!

I NEED TO STOP NOW!!!!

Hee, with regard to the US Presidential election, I am trying curb the sudden re-emergence of my old school Democrat soul. I've been watching the Democratic National Convention and crying like a sap. I love Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton, and when Bill Clinton is "on", he is brilliant, politically speaking.

I'm still quite a bit concerned about foreign policy issues in regards to the Democratic ticket. I like and respect Joe Biden but I often feel he is wrong on some foreign policy issues. But at the very least he is quite experienced and open to dialogue.

I'm trying not fangirl Obama but it is a bit hard; I like him so much! I respect his campaign and its inclusiveness. I love how he has energized so many young people. I just worry about that energy and what will happen to it, if he is elected. Politicians always have to compromise.

But you know, these young people(and yes, I do know I am not old or anything but I am amazed sometimes at how organized 18-22 year old kids can be!)they have quite a bit of talent and they already seem politically savvy. I just hate it to see it when that enthusiasm fades, and I am babbling far too much!

I guess, I think that if the Obama/Biden ticket is elected, many things will get better, but that it is up to the people to keep the politicians straight. Hee, I should not be replying right now, as I clearly am just going to keep babbling

I loved the Democratic National Convention too (I am sorry to be so late!).

After the Palin's interview on the "Bush doctrine" I need to know what Obama and Biden think about the pre-emprive strike doctrine. :(

Hee, don't ever worry about being late in replying with me. I do the same thing. I still have memes to do from last year, and I plan on doing them some day!

I may be writing about Obama/Biden and some foreign policy stuff later this week. Physically speaking, I am feeling much better than I was for much of the summer. Mentally speaking, however, I feel pretty exhausted!

I may be throwing up some article and blog links today or tomorrow but I don't think I will be writing about any of them.

Heh. I have no idea, really, I have some entries that are private as I find it hard not to rant these days. I'm tired of ranting. I look back over many of the entries that I made in my LJ and I often can't believe that I wrote them.

I hate being so US Centric, in my journal. I read, listen and watch quite a bit of news from all over the world. Right now, I'm probably most concerned about what election day will be like, here, in Florida.

I agree - i also prefer not to rant too much, this don't make me feel better at all.

I am having good hopes for the USA election at the moment!
