Friday! So far my week has been spent in organising meetings for the Epic Project and leading them. It all seems to be a roaring success so far but - Do any of you spend much time leading meetings and such? I think you are awesome.
Also today is a day of a sleepover for Sasha's friend which should culminate in swimming pool visit tomorrow. Wish me luck! Other people's child + swimming pool = I am panicking about "What if something happens?" . Fortunately the child in question can swim very well.
Bae Yong Joon pictures
But considering all of the above today is definitely a day to post a collection of pictures of Bae Yong Joon!!

Park Shin Yang
I don't want to make my latest favourite Park Shin Yang (fabulous "Money's Warfare") upset so I post about him a bit too. I have been sneakily checking posts about my favourite actors on Rather snarky blog pop-seul after
dangermousie's rec. I am very relieved they seem to think very highly of Park Shin Yang and "Money's Warfare" (Here:why-korea-cant-stop-yapping-about-money-warfare). He is called to be a top-class actor and "Money's Warfare" (my latest favourite drama) is named to be the latest "thing" in Korea.

Date: 2008-04-11 05:32 pm (UTC)It took me a second attempt to get over vomit-throwing scene but now I am on the episode 9 (I am spoiled for the ending ** bad ending but I can see it coming ** but I haven't watched the sequel thingy) and I think it is a milestone drama. I can see you liking it - it has that crazy quirky humour!
HAve you seen "Lovers in Paris" with Park Shin Yang?

I loved it - it is so ASOIF-like IMHO.

Not yet, it's in my neverending dramas-to-watch list! But I will one of this days!

Date: 2008-04-13 08:43 pm (UTC)To give them credit, the ending is slightly open-ended (we don't see Na Ra dead so I am going to think he survived. I am like that). But as I said, I don't really see how he could end well, there is so much self-destructiveness in his behaviour.
I am going to whatch the bonus round - I hope this ends happily. ;D

Neither do I . :D I am glad you mother likes them too - you could be watching "The legend" together, what a bliss!
What are you watching now? I am still finishing "Lovers in Prague" and I am almost through "Money's Warfare"

Date: 2008-04-22 11:35 pm (UTC)That would be fun. I haven't watched any dramas with my mom for a long time since of school. It would be something nice to do over th summer. :)
I'm currently watching Last Friends, Around 40, and Zettai Kareshi. :) Such refreshing new dramas. I love them all! :)
Oh, i remember my mom watching "Lovers in Prague". All i remember is that it was really pretty. How is that and Money's Warfare?

Date: 2008-04-24 06:51 pm (UTC)Around 40 looks just my thing. Thank you for the rec, I'll definitely try it.

I mad a rec post on "Lovers in prague" , Here (http://alexandral.livejournal.com/186582.html). I love "Money's warfare" to bits and think it is probably the best drama this year after "The Legend" but I don't know if I can rec it to anyone. I should make a post one day - you 'll be able to see if you like it.

Date: 2008-04-12 08:26 am (UTC)I think this is may be because this shows is really rooted in Korean culture and the situation in the country. It is a drak comedy but when you start think about the things that are in it many scenes are too deep for one's comfort.
Mostly people outside the Korea watch dramas for escapism sake, I think (I do!).. It took me a while to get over the vomit-throwing scene.. I stopped watching . Then I talked to someone over at kdrama and they kept saying what a good drama "Money's Warfare" is so I re-started. I am so glad I did. It is milestone drama, I think.. Like "The Legend" it is more than other things I watched, but for a different reason.
Park shin yang is so wonderful, isn't he?
He totally rocks my socks as far as acting goes. I am so glad he got the role in "East of Eden" . Oh, no this seems to be old and he is not - never mind!

Date: 2008-04-12 10:18 am (UTC)I don't spend that much time leading meetings, but for me the biggest challenge is achieving what we want to achieve in a limited time frame. Usually for me to have an effective meeting, I need to prepare well so that it is easier to 'direct' the meeting in the way we want it to go. Often when meetings are held we end up discussing and discussing, and not making any decisions that we initially intended to make :D
no subject
Date: 2008-04-12 10:45 am (UTC)Fortunately, all the meetings we had recently were of decisive kind. What I find difficult is the "panicking during preparation" bit. Take me right, I don't panick in a true sense of the word but I still find the preparation not a "comfortable" thing to do. Once I am there, I am fine. :D

Yup, in 'Lovers in Paris' - he's exellent in it. I need to do a little write-up at some point. Didn't like LiP nearly as much as 'Lovers' though it wasn't bad either. 'Money's Warfare' is on my to-watch list....

He is probably one of the bets Korean actors as far as acting goes (well, dimples don't hurt neither :D). I wish he made more dramas but with every passing year (he is 40 this year!) this seems to be less possible.SO many dramas are youth-oriented.
"Money's Warfare" - it keeps me very intrigued. Very different to what I have seen so far korean-drama-wise.

Date: 2008-04-13 12:10 pm (UTC)I've only seen him in LiP so far but I was impressed straight away. And yeah, dimples never hurt. ;)
It's such a pity that the entertainment world everywhere is so hung up on age and looks. There's very few openings for great older actors/actresses which is a crying shame, imho. There's enough of us who would love watch them just as much. But I guess TPTB don't see any potential in us 'older' viewers.
I like HBO because they don't shy off taking chances on the more mature performers or interesting scripts. (not that they aren't capable of making pure eye candy too -> "Rome" *g*) And I think that British channels are better with this in general than e.g American ones.

Date: 2008-04-13 03:08 pm (UTC)To be fair, Western shows have the youth-orientation tendency too but not as bad. The things pop-seul blog say about Bae Yong Joon ! They call him "an older lady"! And he is one of the actors who has a big fan base, even outside Korea.

** nods ** HBO stands out like this, they have made almost all of my recent favourites . Their shows are different..
