anyway, I know Joss Wheadon axed the character of Riley because most of the fanbase never warmed to him. with Prison Break I think fan reaction definitely had something to do with Veronica's exit.
and then there are people like The Wire's David Simon. I doubt fan reaction has much to do with anything that happens on that show. he and the his writing staff/producers have a vision for the show that is so intricate and planned out, it doesn't seem like fan reaction plays into it.
