I have seen the film but not read the book yet, for me I found that the film was so odd in that it was almost like a psychadelic dream or something and I don't know how far they went from the original book plot with the movie either. I think for me what got me about this movie was that by the end of watching it I had so many different emotional reactions to what I had just watched that I couldn't sort them all out, so that is why I liked it mostly 'cause I've not watched a movie in a long time that brought that kind of reaction from me ;)
