go through a half of a film before I recognize it.

:D I usually remember *if* I've seen a movie before, but ever so often I've forgotten a lot of important details, like how it ended. Ah well, that way I can enjoy it again. ;)

May be sometimes you can retain a feel that you want to convey easier if you make a film in a short time span?

I don't know if Kim does it that way. But I would guess the most important thing is a good preparation. If he knows *exactly* how he wants to shoot a scene and if the actors are well prepared then it should be easier to shoot a movie quickly.
